WYS Baseball Agenda Sunday, September 13th 6:00-8:00pm

Our own Bank Account . Our own Budget . Our own Treasurer . Our own 501C  We can use WYS money and can fundraise to their benefit . Fundraising goal of 27K vs 13K last year:sponsors embroidered on hats

o Discuss Website options and direction (Spencer/Seal)(5 min) . Discuss meeting and give review  We would have total control of site  Customize  Reporting Capabilities  Upfront Cost of $499, Yearly $199 + $3/player  Need volunteer to work on website, look at pages from other local LL to see what we want to incorporate. Aaron, Joe and Jeremy  Goal to be live on December 1st  Logo to use is Byn’s logo, will need him to forward artwork  Mark can help with graphics o Update on FallBall(Seal)(5 min) . All levels . Numbers and overall activity  Josh/Seniors: Russ Wright has a good attitude, players having a good time, made up of 7th, 8th and 9th graders  Kevin/Midget: Played two games one a national type team and one an American type team. Good group of kids and parents. Good mix of older/experienced players and younger players.  Kevin/Juniors: Watched the end of their game on Sunday, Competitive and everyone seems happy. . Carter: Kids back from club ball? Apparently 2. Michele to provide those names and emails to Carter. . Carter: Reminder that it is a community based program, all kids have a chance to play, club players can go and come back, welcome input from people that help/volunteer. o Discuss next steps and current stage of action for LL(Carter)(10 min) o Where are we and what needs to get done?  Five things need to happen to join Little League officially: 1. Charter Application: Waiting to turn that in until November 1st (new baseball year). 2. League Constitution: We will stand alone not WYS anymore but will incorporate as a partner. Have to wait to file Charter Application. 3.Board Members: Now done can turn in. 4. Map: Wilsonville SD, + West Linn + Charbeneau + East side of the river. 5. IRS and Bank Account: Have to have Charter

So most everything done, just waiting to turn it in.

o Special project updates(Carter/Card)(10 min) . Cover Meeting with Tim Woodley  If we turf infields, school district will turf rest of the field-have it done next summer  Can’t help with high school hitting cage because of Title 9.

. Grant situation  Waiting on outcome of Reser Grant in the amount of $65k. Epping Foundation is committed to donating $65k too. Funds to be used to turf the infield at Boones. Minors Division field. Extra money used to turf Woods Fields.

. Bryn to discuss Clinic dates and hitting league  Bryn to provide clinic dates (3 kids hitting camps and 1 coaches clinic)  Nov-Feb hitting league- 6 inning games for points, prizes and playoffs o Review LL rules and discussion (Carter)(50 min) . Review Murrayhill and other rules Carter; Everyone should have read the Murrayhill and other local rules, we can change or add to them later Motion to approve Murrayhill Local Little League Rules-approved unanimously. . Changes to the Murrayhill Local Little League rules: - 1.3 “Player Agent” is the VP of that level - 1.4 Eliminate “the Umpire in Chief” - 1.9 Eliminate “the Umpire in Chief” - 1.20 Add in “and use the ‘Coaches Handbook’ as prescribed by the Wilsonville Little League board”… - 5.9 Add “Speed of the pitching machine to be 40-42 mph” - Add 5.9a “4th Ball Rule” : if pitcher pitches four balls, then revert back to the pitching machine to finish the at bat. - 5.10 Change to (4) four strikes - 5.14 Pitching distance to be 40 feet - 5.15 Players at this level limited to 40 pitches per week - 5.23 Add “and players must play both infield and outfield positions. Outfielders must stay in the outfield for the catch.” - Add 5.27 A team must have a minimum of (8) eight players to field a team. An automatic out is recorded if there is not a player available to bat in the 9th spot of the batting order.” - Remove all of “6. Rules Governing the Coast Baseball Division” . It was agreed that we would revisit 8.6 at the next meeting

. Decide on number of Levels . Question of 6 or 7 levels (having a “Coast” League or not) - Bryn ok with 7 as long as not holding kids back - Michele provide a level for higher skilled 6 year olds and lower skilled 7 year olds. - Kevin Motion to Adopt Murrayhill except Coast League- approved 9 yes, 1 abstained. . Divisions: Tball 4-6years Farm 7-8 + 9’s Minors 9 -10 + some 11’s Majors 11-12 Intermediate 12-13 Juniors 13-14 o Review action plans and next steps for month of September(Carter) (20 min) . Each board member will be part of a committee or have an individual action item for the month of September.

. Five Special Projects:

1. 50/70 at Wood: Chair: Dan Haener + Chris K., John C., Levi A. Field #1 @ Wood Sod Real Mound Sprinkler System Temp Foul Posts Dugouts

2. Fields at Wood: Chair Mark K, + Dan H., & Bryn Card Talk to Pro Grass and Tim Crowley Dugouts (have to be seen from school) Mesh fabric with logos Mark to coordinate all new dugouts at Wood

3. Allocation of $165K: Chair: Jeremy + John C., Ron Lam, Josh Goff, and Bryn Card Fundraising goal of 25-30 sponsors Add the ability to donate at the time of registration/annual sponorship Find a piece of land we can buy: Josh G. 1 majors field 1 tball field Wiffle ball park Little League to help write a grant to Honda-unlimited grant, just need to provide them with what we want to have done.

4. Volunteers: Chair: Kevin + Michele and Josh Setup Umpire Training List of volunteer needs ie Opening Day, Team Moms, work with Bryn on Clinics, Thanksgiving pitching clinic Carter to send info and dates ect on Thanksgiving pitching clinic

5. Coaches Handbook and Development Committee: Chair; Kevin + Bryn, Joe, Josh and Levi Integrate more w/ Bryn Handbook additions/revisions..coaches to spend one hour of every 1.5 hours out of the handbook Mandatory coaches clinic: must attend one clinic-one in November and one in February

o Review Baseball Calendar (Carter) (5 min) o What and when needs to be done by January?  Must be done by January 1st: - Coaches Handbook - Registration Ready to Go - Uniforms Selected - Upgrade Plan for Wood - Umpire Training Program - Connection Points with other Leagues  Other items to be done in next few weeks: - Connex: Sandpro repaired and moved and need 3 ramps, need a shelf to put the pitching machine on o Mark: Front is cleared out, rubber flooring in the back, vent holes, diamond plate on front 8 feet - Dan and Joe to coordinate equipment pickup at Memorial Park - Hitting facility code has been changed - Winterize pitching Machines and Generator - To use the hitting cage, one must sign up with Joe o Review Purchased items (Santiago)(5 min)
