OUTDOOR ADVENTURE TRIP —Monday, Aug. 24 Meet at Reid Campus Center (RCC) main floor around the brown couches at 9:00 AM. Lunch and dinner will be provided this day for trip participants. You will need to wear or bring that day: Shorts (short pants) or long pants (depending on the weather) and a T-shirt and shoes-- all items that can get wet. You can bring a swimsuit or shorts and shirt for the water sport options–there are restrooms and a place to change clothes at the park. You might want to bring some type of shirt or light jacket to cover you from the sun or if it gets cool in the afternoon. We will provide sun screen.

ORIENTATION CAMP – Tuesday, Aug. 25 – Thursday, Aug. 27 Lunch at Reid Campus Center in Young Ballroom (280 Boyer Street) --Tuesday, August 25th at 12pm. (Family/friends are invited. Please send me the number of people with you to include them for lunch.) After lunch, the orientation schedule will begin with orienting on campus, meeting campus administrators, campus tour, etc., and then a bus will transport everyone to the Orientation Camp located a 30 minute drive from campus.

WHAT TO BRING TO CAMP: When you pack to come to Whitman, consider placing the following items easily accessible in a small bag or backpack for your O- Camp stay that will be from Tuesday, Aug. 25th at noon until Thursday, August 27th at noon. You can bring this bag or backpack to the Tuesday luncheon and it can be stored in the Intercultural Center (Room 216, upstairs in Reid Campus Center). Sonja Aikens will direct you to a secure place to store your bag and then you can pick it up just before we board the bus to O-Camp at 5:00pm. ITEMS NEEDED AT O-CAMP:  Tennis-type shoes or sandals (a shoe that you can be comfortable wearing for some active outdoor games)  A pair of shorts and long pants  A pair of short sleeve t-shirts or shirts for the daytime  A long sleeve shirt for the evening  A sweater, jacket or sweatshirt for the evening  Warm clothing to sleep in—the nights can get cold  Extra socks for the evening  A swimsuit—no blue jean cut-offs  Personal items o Toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, etc….. o Any medications you regularly take, including for allergies  Please bring a sleeping bag if you have one and intended to bring it to campus anyway.

**Towel, washcloth and bedding will be provided for all new students.

As you travel: Cut off and keep the portion below, and place it with your important papers, passport or wallet when you fly.
