JOB TITLE: Programme Support Worker
JOB GRADE/SALARY: £15K- £18K per annum (pro rata) (Dependent on experience)
HOURS: Various/flexible hours available (Fixed term/sessional)
LOCATION: Citywide but based within the GCA office in North Claremont Street, Glasgow
PSP PROFILE:
Elevate-Glasgow is a Public Social Partnership (PSP). Its aim is to improve the design of services for people in recovery from substance misuse regarding their employability and to enhance partner agencies’ commitment to collaboration and innovation in the delivery of support services.
Public Social Partnerships (PSPs) are strategic partnering arrangements, through which the public sector can collaborate with third sector organisations (voluntary, charity and social enterprise organisations) to share responsibility for designing services. A key principle of this approach is that services are designed co- productively with service users.
Elevate-Glasgow PSP aims to find person-centred approaches to individuals needs in their journey. The PSP has received funding from the Scottish Government to create a unique, person-centred support scheme where the PSP would tailor itself around the individuals’ need and aspirations, rather than following a step by step guidance and have expectations of where they should be in their recovery. MAIN FUNCTION / RESPONSIBILITY: The Programme Support Worker will make a real impact to individuals’ day to day lives as they uniquely tailor their personal development, offer emotional and practical support and set realistic goals as part of their journey to employability opportunities. This role has been created to further the development of the PSP and help the PSP discover new ways to assist people in their recovery.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: The Programme Support Worker reports to the Elevate-Glasgow Programme (Services) Manager. They will be working with our Elevate-Glasgow team based at Glasgow Council on Alcohol (GCA). They should also use the wider PSP as a support network, taking advantage of their knowledge of the public and third sectors and guide individuals into the opportunities it offers.
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITY: The perfect candidate for the Programme Support Worker role will be friendly, compassionate and naturally able to build relationships with individuals as they support them through their recovery journey They will use the Elevate-Glasgow team and wider PSP partner agencies as a support network to develop a comprehensive support plan for each individual. They will also be a part of a support team of peer workers/volunteers. They will be supporting individuals in their pathway into employability opportunities through tailored plans, structured encouragement and offering practical support They will be supporting individuals on a weekly basis. This will include tasks such as ensuring they are undertaking the necessary experience/skills or learning/group work for their personal development by assisting them important appointments or placements Undertaking regular assessment of needs/risk for individuals in your support network They will support and report back to the Elevate-Glasgow team and the wider PSP to deliver a high quality person-centred service. These reports will also contribute to the development of the PSP and its future ways to help individuals They will promote the unique, person centred work being developed by Elevate- Glasgow PSP PERSON SPECIFICATION: (E = Essential D = Desirable)
