Romans 6:10-14/NKJV James 1:13-15/NKJV Temptation-to sin with the implied promise of a greater good. To allure-entice-trap-strong attraction-snare 2 Corinthians 2:11/ NLT Proverbs- Satan seeks the precious Life Judges 14-16- Samson- Made little compromises Proverbs- You can’t take fire in your bosom and not get burned Sin is pleasurable for a Season

Why not to Sin? 1. Effects your Relationship with God/ Sin makes us feel guilty and unclean 2. Ruins your Witness 3. Death- wages of sin is death/Proverbs- there is a way that seems right to a man, but the end is death.

James 1:13-15/NLT- Your own lust and desire/Not God tempting Romans 6:10-14/NLT- You have a new nature that has power to overcome sin Vs. 14 – Sin will not be your Master

Hebrews – Jesus was tempted everyway we are, but without sin Luke 4:1-14-Jesus overcame temptation by Speaking God’s Word His spirit controlled all of his decisions You can not overcome thoughts with thoughts; you have to speak to them

Galatians 5:16/ NLT- Let the Holy Spirit guide your lives So that you don’t do what your sinful nature craves.

(CEV) Don't destroy yourself by getting drunk, but let the Spirit fill your life.

(GNB) Do not get drunk with wine, which will only ruin you; instead, be filled with the Spirit.
