Headteacher: Mrs C Lynott

5th June 2015 Dear Parents

We would like to make a feature of the wonderful carnival ship that Mr Bruce constructed for the school’s PTA carnival entry at the front of school. What we would like to do is plant it out with bedding plants such as geraniums, non stop begonias, etc. This is a bit of an experiment but we would like to ask you if your child might bring in a bedding plant or small tray of plants in a vivid vibrant colour as soon as possible next week and leave them in the shaded area outside in front of the school office. If your child could contribute something then we will see if we can make a stunning display at the front of school. Furthermore if there are any parents who could volunteer to help the children plant out we would be very grateful. More details to follow.

New staff appointment from September 2015 I am pleased to announce that in the last week of term before the Spring Bank holiday we were able to appoint Mrs Lisa Seton as our new Deputy Head Teacher. Mrs Besharati will be returning from maternity leave in the Autumn Term for three days per week as a class teacher but has decided to step down as an Assistant Headteacher. More details will follow in the next two weeks regarding class teaching arrangements in the new academic year.

GENERAL NOTICES

Class Photos – If you would like to order a class photo, please fill in the form which you received and enclose your payment. All orders need to be returned to the school office by Friday 12th June at the latest. Thank you

School Lunch Wrist Bands – If anyone has any lunch wrist bands at home, please return them to the school office.

Uniform Could parents please ensure that ALL items of clothing (PE kits, school uniform, coats and shoes) are clearly named. All items of named clothing will be returned to your child if handed in. Unfortunately, we do not have enough space in school to keep un-named items of clothing for long periods of time.

Water Bottles As part of a recent health and safety inspection we have been advised that we should not use the water in the classrooms as drinking water. Consequently we have just ordered new water dispensers to be placed around school. As we are now into the Summer term and the weather is beginning to get warmer, we would ask that parents ensure their child(ren) bring a water bottle into school each day, so that they can have a drink of water at any stage throughout the day. Water bottles can be topped up at school from these dispensers during the day if required. Water bottles can be purchased from the School Office at a cost of £1.50. We also have a supply of water bottle tops at a cost of 50p each. Please ensure that your child’s water bottle is named clearly. Don’t worry cups are available in case your child does forget to bring their water bottle.

Polite Request Could parents please ensure that their children refrain from cycling or scootering in the playground, before or after school.

Thank you LOST If anyone has found a sliver bracelet with green stones near school please could you hand it in to the school office.

Pat’ Party has been chosen as one of three local charities eligible to receive a donation from the Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation. In order to obtain the maximum donation of £500 we need your help. All you have to do is call in to the Yorkshire Building Society branch on Station Plaza between 5th-19th June and vote for Pat’s Party.
