Directions: Read the student response to the following prompt and then follow the directions on the bottom of the sheet.

Prompt: Does Tetsuya Ishida in “Seedlings” view conformity as a right, a burden, or a responsibility? Use evidence from the painting as well as inferences you have made to write a well-constructed paragraph that addresses this prompt.

Tetsuya Ishida in “Seedlings” views confirmity as a burden. In the painting it shows student’s in a classroom, science to be specific and this is a negative painting because as Tetsuya Ishida was a child he was told to work hard and all that. Then he drew a painting about how he felt because he was frustrated and the painting is how it is because he never like science he refused to learn it. That’s why this painting/picture is the way it is.
