Annual Report The McMillen Center for Health Education Board of Directors educates youth and adults in northeast Indiana, around the country, and into Canada. This year President: Grant Goeglein Northwestern Mutual we reached a record number of students – over 51,000! Life Begins In Spring of 2015, we introduced our Toward Maturity Pharm Crisis program, the development Respect and Responsibility of which was funded by The American Stay Drug Free Medical Association. Pharm Crisis Brush! informed students of the devastating Stand Against Bullying effects of prescription medication abuse. Don’t Give Me any Bull Tobacco: Coughin’ to Coffin The News About Booze Drug Free: The Way to Be Health Adventure 2. Serving 60,000 nationwide, the Brush! curriculum addresses the prevention of dental decay in infants and young children, using a comprehensive approach that ® involves parents, early childhood education professionals, and children. Visit www.brushdental.org to learn more. 2015 Interprofessional Children's Oral Health Summit At the 2015 Interprofessional Children’s Oral Health Summit, nationally known keynote speakers presented on the important topic of oral health as it relates to children. Education on the need for children to establish a dental home at age one and encouraging pediatricians to work with dentists was the focus of this event. Speakers included David Krol MD, MPH, FAAP (top left), Patrice Pascual M.A. (top right), Lisa Rudolph, DMD, MPH (bottom) and Paul Rudolph (bottom). Brush! Assembly In our Brush! Assembly, students get a chance to view a live presentation that educates them on the importance of their teeth. The story is about a boy named James and includes characters such as Roger the Red Robot, The Tooth Fairy and his best friend, Matthew. With funding from Delta Dental Foundation, the Brush! Assembly was presented to over 4,500 Allen County students. 3. Vitality Awards At the fourth annual Vitality Awards, held on May 14th, 2015, at the Landmark Centre, we honored outstanding members in our community who work in the areas of healthcare, health education, wellness and prevention.
