Properties of powders:
Sugar- sweet taste
Salt- salty taste, dissolves in water
Baking soda- sodium bicarbonate- odorless, dissolves in water, rxn to acid: bubbles and gives off a gas
Corn starch- thickens with water, rxn to iodine: turns black
Sodium polyacrylate- a polymer that is super absorbant
