5th Annual CCFCC/Saputo Junior Culinary Exchange: Niagara Falls, Ontario

Juniors, this is your chance to experience the diverse culinary scene in Niagara Falls Ontario. The exchange takes place from July 17th – 24th, 2017. Featuring active preparation of food at special events; chocolate, sugar and Charcuterie hands-on workshops, tours of fruit and vegetable Farms; tour of the Saputo Woolwich goat cheese production plant and an Ontario goat farm, and of course winery tours and tastings.

This opportunity is for all CCFCC Junior Members and rewards seven deserving young chefs with an experience of a lifetime. All costs associated with travel, accommodations, food and events are covered by the CCFCC and sponsoring authorities.

Submission Requirements:  Please create a 2 minute video submission detailing:  Yourself – where you are from, some of your past culinary experiences  Why you want to participate in this exchange  Why you are a suitable candidate to represent your branch and province  How the exchange will relate to your career and/or academic goals  Recipes for a three-course menu:  Appetizer must include a Saputo Cheese  Main Course must include a Saputo Cheese & Dairy Product  Dessert must include a Saputo Dairy Product  Please include a photo of at least one dish  Resume  Two letters of recommendation from an adult mentor, coach or instructor familiar with your work and abilities  One letter from your current employer (if applicable) confirming your ability to secure time off for the 7 day exchange and confirming that your position is guaranteed upon your return  Emergency Contact Information Form (attached) Submitting Applications: In the interest of fairness, no emails, scanned copies or faxes will be accepted – application will be accepted by regular Canada Post mail only. Make provisions for shipping time (min. 1 week).

Applications will be accepted by the selection committee on a first come, first served basis. The final deadline for applications is April 15, 2017. No applications will be accepted after the deadline even if they were postmarked by April 15th.

The selection committee will announce the winning candidates on Friday, May 5th, 2017 followed by a public announcement on the CCFCC National website by Monday, May 8th, 2017.
