Request for Upgrade to Certification at the National Level

REQUEST FOR UPGRADE TO CERTIFICATION AT THE NATIONAL LEVEL

Certification at the National Level is designed for Association Level officials who are ready to take on more responsibility outside of their Association and to serve as Chief Judges within their Association. Officials requesting an upgrade must be a currently active Association Level official and have a current USATF Membership. Upgrades are for a specific discipline and the requirements for upgrade are applied to each discipline independently. When meeting some requirements, such as the number of meets officiated, the official must have officiated that specific discipline at a meet in order for it to count towards an upgrade. A multi-day meet counts as one meet for fulfilling the requirements. If multiple events were officiated at a meet, then that one meet can count towards the requirements of each of the corresponding disciplines.

The current USATF Certification-Regulations can be found at: http://www.usatf.org/groups/officials/files/certification/2013-2016/Certification-Regulations-2013-1B.pdf

Once the requirements of this package have been fulfilled, the Officials Committee Certification Chair will submit an upgrade request to the Officials Committee for a subjective evaluation of an individual official’s readiness to upgrade and the Committee will vote on the request. A simple majority is required for approval. ****************************************************************************************** A.
