President Martin Miller called the meeting to order at 11:27 a.m. Secretary Noreen Snively called the roll and the following Officers and Directors were present:

Vice President Doug Gormley, Treasurer Courtney Haning, Director-at-Large Bobby Caplinger, SW Zone Directors Jeff Schlichter and Tim Hunsaker, NE Zone Director Dan Lukanec, NW Zone Directors John Mueller and Dick Barhorst, Foundation Chairman Dennis Filo, A.T.A. Delegate Roger McNamer, 1st Alternate A.T.A. Delegate Clyde Findley, and 2nd Alternate A.T.A. Delegate Michael Blair.

Absent: SE Zone Director Tonya Bluhm, Museum Director Betty Peterson, and Youth Director Dave Schock.

Everyone reviewed the minutes from the February meeting. John Mueller moved to accept the minutes as written. With a move to second, the motion passed unanimously.

Treasurer Courtney Haning presented the fiscal year report for September 1, 2016 to December 31, 2016 with a balance of $158,074.71. Courtney reported the balance in the Association account as of March 31, 2017 as $139,699.19. Doug Gormley moved to accept the report and with a move to second, the motion passed unanimously.

The Board briefly discussed the relocation of the Dixie Grand from Florida to North Carolina. A.T.A. Delegate Roger McNamer expressed his concern that the October 3-8 scheduling was right on top of many other established shoots.

Secretary Snively passed out Zone Shoot packets for the directors. She included the trophies for the handicap event, letters for the Zone Team members and alternates to be handed out with a hat, forms & worksheets for listing the teams, voting ballots, classification forms, a rule book, raffle tickets and signs, and All-Ohio Team applications. President Miller reminded the directors to make sure the Zone Team winners are able to attend the State Shoot event. Noreen also provided the members with extra Zone Shoot programs.

John Mueller has ordered the golf carts required for the State Tournament -17 total. Dick Barhorst will use his own cart and receive $50.00 reimbursement for gas and transportation. A golf cart will be provided for the incoming director that is elected at the Zone Shoot. Noreen has new signs for the carts.

Secretary Snively asked the Board for any further revisions, additions or corrections for the State Shoot program. She has added another section to the program to accommodate all of the necessary information about the events of the week. Once her final changes and additions are complete, there will probably be 6 pages still available for advertisers. Noreen asked the Board to notify her of any possible advertisers for the remaining pages. The full page, color ad for Cardinal Center that the O.S.T.A. pays for in the program, has not been delivered to the printer. Noreen will follow up with Luke to get the current ad. Noreen showed the Board a picture of the 2017 State Shoot pin designed for President Miller. She will order 2,000 pins to be handed out at classification. She will also order a tent for our sponsor, CPS.

After a break for lunch, Bobby Caplinger reviewed the State Shoot sponsors. Noreen advised the Board that currently, 9 gun clubs have entered the Champion of Champions competition. All nine have received a letter of confirmation of their scheduled event(s) and the date(s) as well as the rules and result forms. Noreen will see that Doug Gormley gets the results from the qualifier shoots for his spread sheet. Noreen reminded the Board that the O.S.T.A. is providing an ice cream sundae bar for the SCTP shooters on Monday afternoon. Dick Barhorst requested flyers to promote the Monday events, so Noreen will print them.

Noreen is still working on finishing up loose ends on the O.S.T.A web site. Information on the Hall of Fame inductees is being loaded and the shoot calendar is being updated. The web master has provided a new link to make additions and revisions quicker and easier.

Secretary Snively brought the All-Ohio certificates for the required signatures and she will pick up the team’s clothing donation from the sponsor, Cabela’s. Noreen has pins on order for the All-Ohio Team members as well.

Under old business, the Board is hopeful that Cardinal Center will reconsider the $20.00 golf cart insurance/registration fee to drive your private golf cart on the grounds. A reduction to $5.00 is a possibility. If there is a golf cart violation/situation, the directors are to contact Luke, Jake, Austin or one of the deputies.

The trophy attendant will be needed from Tuesday to Sunday night of the State Shoot and is yet to be determined. Bobby Caplinger asked if Detty Outdoors could do some filming from their drone and the Board approved..

At 1:47 p.m., Jeff Mueller moved that the Association meeting be adjourned. With a move to second, the motion passed unanimously.

Respectfully submitted, Noreen Snively O.S.T.A. Secretary
