POLICE DEPARTMENT January 2015

During January officers responded to 764 complaints, made 55 Penal Law arrests, issued 101 Vehicle and Traffic tickets and wrote 343 parking tickets. Below is a synopsis of some of those arrests:

January 1, 1st tour 11pm to 7am

Officers charged Andrew Fuller with Criminal Obstruction of Breathing, a Class A Misdemeanor. Fuller was involved in a domestic incident at 6 Jackson Ave during which he choked another person.

Officers charged Gregory Johnson with Criminal Possession of Marihuana, a class B Misdemeanor. Johnson was involved in a disturbance at McDonalds, 605 E. Main St. During the subsequent investigation, it was determined that Johnson was in possession of several mason jars of marihuana. Also during this incident, officers charged Danielle Agosto with False Personation. Agosto provided a false name to officer because she believed there to be an arrest warrant for her.

3rd tour 3pm to 11pm

Officers charged Aaron Wilson and Jiheje Luckie with Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, a Violation. Wilson was operating a vehicle on Monroe St at Roosevelt Ave when he was stopped for an inadequate exhaust. A subsequent investigation determined he and a passenger, Luckie were both in possession of Marihuana.

January 15, 3rd tour 3pm to 11pm

Officers charged Joshua Mayzyk with Assault in the 3rd degree, a class A Misdemeanor. Mayzyk was involved in a dispute at 900 Broad St during which he shoved another person to the ground causing injury to that person, specifically a fractured humerus.

January 23, 1st tour 11pm to 7am

Officers charged Lyn Kocik with Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a class A Misdemeanor. Kocik was involved in a domestic incident at 521 River Terrace during which she engaged in a physical altercation while holding a child, subjecting the child to physical harm.

2nd tour 7am to 3pm

Officers charged James Sullivan with Criminal Mischief in the 4th degree, a class A Misdemeanor. Sullivan was involved in a domestic incident at 401 Groats St during which he broke a window on an exterior entry door.

Officers charged Iyanna Eason with Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest. Eason was involved in a disturbance involving approx. 20 subject at Wendy’s, 217 Washington Ave. During this disturbance, Eason refused to cease her behavior and leave the area. She continued to yell obscenities and resisted when officers arrested her.

January 31, 3rd tour 3pm to 11pm

Officers charged Shateka Veasey with Unlawful Possession of Marihuana. Veasey was operating a vehicle on Monroe St at Arthur Ave when she was stopped for an equipment violation. A subsequent investigation found Veasey to be in possession of a quantity of Marihuana.

Officers charged Mark Kelliehan with Unlawful Possession of Marihuana. Kelliehan was operating a vehicle on North St at Lincoln Ave when he was stopped for an equipment violation. A subsequent investigation found Kelliehan to be in possession of a quantity of Marihuana

Detectives currently have 22 open cases.

8 Burglaries 4 Sex Crimes 5 Forgery/Grand Larceny 2 Robberies 1 Suspicious Death/Homicide 1 Missing Person

Also, the last week of January through the second week of March is the time when all officers cycle through a majority of our yearly accreditation required training.
