COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course covers small business accounting using QuickBooks software. Topics include creating a chart of accounts, recording customer and vendor transactions, processing payroll, and printing reports. In addition, setting up a new company is covered as well as advanced topics such as exporting to Excel software and using the QuickBooks audit trail.

Work with various advanced features of QuickBooks Project 12, final exam COURSE OUTLINE Work through the assigned chapter and review any additional material on WebCampus, then complete the assigned exercises and/or projects and submit through WebCampus by the due date listed below. No late assignments will be accepted, except in the case of an emergency.

GRADING POLICY: Your Course grade will be determined as follows: Chapters 1-10 (End--of-chapter activities @ 25 points each) 250 Projects: Projects 9.1 and 10.1 (100 points each) 200 Projects 11.1 and 12.1 (50 points each) 100 Participation (will consist of various bulletin posts through the semester; dates and requirements will be on WebCampus.) 50 Exams (2 @ 100 points each) 200 Total 800
Your grade will be calculated by taking your total number of points earned divided by the total available (800). Final grades will be: A 95% 100% C 73% 76% A- 90% 94% C- 70% 72% B+ 87% 89% D+ 67% 69% B 83% 86% D 63% 66% B- 80% 82% D- 60% 62% C+ 77% 79% F 0% 60% W = Withdrawal up to the 13th week with instructor consent.
MATERIALS You will need to backup your assignments and company information on your diskette or other backup media (CD-RW, ZIP disk, or USB drives) each time you make any changes. (I recommend flash drives.)

ACADEMIC HONESTY: Students may discuss homework assignments, but the final product submitted should be each student's individual work. Chapter quizzes and exams must be completed independently. Working with others on the exams or transferring or receiving exam information before, during, or after an exam is cheating and will result in disciplinary action in accordance with the GBC general catalog and student handbook.
The instructor reserves the right to modify the course requirements, assignments, grading procedures, and other related policies as circumstances may dictate.
