Applicants must be graduating high school seniors from Oregon or Clark County, Washington, AND applicants must be one of the following: (1) Born in Scotland, Eligibility Requirements (2) The child/grandchild of someone born in Scotland, OR (3) Someone who has demonstrated a substantial commitment to Scottish dancing, piping, drumming, the Celtic harp or the highland fiddle.

Award Information Awards are for one year only. The award amount varies.

Scholarship Information

The St. Andrew’s Society of Oregon, a charitable organization dedicated to the assistance of persons of Scottish descent and the perpetuation of Scottish culture, has established a scholarship program for graduating high school seniors.

The scholarship is for graduating seniors from high schools in Oregon or Clark County, Washington. It is awarded on the basis of scholastic ability, financial need, participation in community activities, persistence in pursuing difficult tasks, and resourcefulness.

Applicants may be asked to appear for an interview with the St. Andrew’s Society scholarship committee. Application packets must include all items noted above.
