Westport Science Olympiad Middle School Invitational

Date: January 9, 2016.

Where: Bedford Middle School, 88 North Rd, Westport, CT

- All events and home rooms will be in Bedford. Staples High School will not be used.

Start: Team coaches/supervisors meet in Bedford Room 280 at 8:00. First event will start at 8:30.

Teams: 25 teams with a maximum of three (3) teams per school. All teams must be registered with their State Science Olympiad organization.

Events: Each team must create and supervise an event. Teams may choose events from those available at the time of their commitment to attend. An electronic copy of tests and answers must be received by 3 PM January 3, 2016. Westport will make copies for the competition and will supply each team with a thumb drive containing all the material.

Entry: Entries must include the coaches’ names, school’s name, team names, and both email and phone contact information. A check for $80 per team payable to Westport Public Schools must be received in a timely period. A waiting list will be maintained.

Rotation: The schedule of events will closely follow the Connecticut State Championship rotation which is published approximately Novemebr 1, 2015. Connecticut teams, if possible, will be given the same rotation they will have in the State Championships.

Registration: Teams will be required to submit rosters and various indemnification and permission forms as may be required.

Awards: Medals will be given for 1, 2 and 3 in each event and trophies for 1, 2 and 3 in team standing with the provision that no school may win more than one team trophy.

Lunches: Lunches will be supplied for volunteers, workers and event supervisors.
