Boards of Directors

Following our “One Bright Water” approach, the boards of Bright Water Elementary, a Charter school, and Bright Water Montessori, an independent preschool program, meet concurrently. Most board members are dual members. To preserve the independence of the organizations, each board has 3 members who serve as officers and who do not sit on the other board.

The charter board has 5 committees: Governance; Personnel; Finance; Instruction, School Culture and Equity; and Communications, Development and Community Engagement. The first three committees are exclusively representing the Charter school. The preschool board has a parallel Finance Committee, and addresses Personnel and Governance issues without a committee. The last two committees meet as fully integrated groups with members of both boards, reflecting the integration of our instructional program and external communications.
