ALL Arts Gallery Prospectus Open Call for Entry Juried Show PATTERNS

January 13 – March 5, 2017 Artist Reception: Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017 (4 – 6 PM) Snow date, Feb. 4, 2017 (4 – 6PM)

***Please note drop off times for this show as It Is juried and no late entries will be accepted.

THEME: PATTERNS The repetition of a visual element or elements in a regular and predictable sequence. The elements may be composed of line, shape, form, texture, color or any combination of these. In a visual pattern, you see the group or repeating organization first and the individual elements second. . ELIGIBILITY Submissions for this ALL JURIED show is open to active ALL members as well as non-member artists working in 2D, 3D, video or digital mediums. Submitted work must have been completed since 2014, and must not have been shown previously at the ALL Arts Gallery. Student work done under direct supervision is not eligible.

WORK REQUIREMENTS Work MUST be framed or otherwise securely and professionally presented, and wired to hang. No saw tooth or keyhole hangers accepted. Our new gallery’s high ceilings permit us to show large work and we are not setting a size limit for this show. Wall hung work must be under glass or Plexiglas. ENTRY SUBMISSIONS PATTERNS will be juried by Lindsey Parker, Gallery Director of UnchARTed Gallery in Lowell, MA. We will accept up to three pieces per artist for consideration. All work accepted for exhibition in this show is at the final discretion of the juror. You will be informed if you need to pick up any pieces that did not fit into the exhibit.

ENTRY FEE Arts League of Lowell members in good standing - $30.00 for up to 3 works entered. Non-members of The Arts League of Lowell - $45.00 for up to 3 works entered.

Non-member artists wishing to enter are heartily invited to join The Arts League of Lowell for an additional $45/year, pay the member entry fee for this show and sign up for a shift in the gallery at time of entry.

Submission fees are non-refundable and do not guarantee acceptance of your work for exhibition. Submissions will not be considered without accompanying submission fee.

SALES ALL takes a 25% commission on all members artwork sold and 40% commission on all non-members artwork sold. Artists are encouraged to show work that is for sale. Payment for work sold will be made no later than 15 days after the close of the exhibit. VOLUNTEERING REQUIREMENTS Exhibiting Arts League of Lowell member artists are required to sign up for and complete one shift of gallery sitting. You can check the gallery schedule at www.artsleagueoflowell.org/gallerycalendar to see available shifts. Members will sign up to Gallery sit at drop off. Please bring your calendar. The Gallery stays in operation only because of the help of all participants. If, for any reason, you cannot fulfill your obligation to sit on the day to which you committed, please contact Roberta Bloom, [email protected], as soon as possible to arrange for a replacement and to sign up for another shift.

CONDITIONS Submission of a work of art to this exhibition and the artist’s signature on the entry form shall be understood to constitute an agreement on the part of the artist with the conditions set forth and shall grant the Arts League of Lowell and the PATTERNS show the rights to reproduce and distribute images of accepted works through print and electronic media for promotion of the exhibition. Artists will retain all copyrights to their work.

INSURANCE AND LIABILITY Every reasonable precaution will be taken to ensure protection and careful handling of work. The Arts League of Lowell carries insurance to cover damage or loss while the art work is on our premises.

DELIVERY Deliver work to The Arts League of Lowell Gallery, 307 Market St., Lowell, MA, across from Haffner’s Gas Station on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2017 from 4-6 PM and/or Monday, Jan. 9, 2017 from 12:00 AM-2:00 PM. If you are unable to drop off at these times, arrangements MUST be made in advance by contacting Gwen Stith at [email protected]. No late drop offs will be accepted.

SHIPPING Artists are responsible for the cost of shipping to and from the exhibit. Shipped work must arrive at The Arts League of Lowell Gallery, 307 Market St., Lowell, MA 01852 on or before Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017. All shipped work must be in STURDY, REUSABLE containers. Entry forms and fee must be included. Include a separate check to cover costs to ship unsold or work not accepted for exhibition back. If any or all work is sold, ALL will return the unused portion of your shipping check. Please inform Gwen Stith if you are intending to ship work for entry.

ENTRY FORM Bring your completed entry form and up to three properly labeled artworks. Please use ENTRY FORM and LABELS - ATTACHED (page 3 & 4 - artist name, contact information, price or NFS. (If NFS, please include insurance value).

JURYING Juried by Lindsey Parker, Gallery Director of UnchARTed Gallery in Lowell, MA. Artists who have submitted works that are not accepted for exhibition will be notified promptly to make arrangements for pick-up. Jury selection will be January 9, 2017 after 2:00pm. No late drop off will be accepted for entry during or after Jury selection.

PICK UP OF EXHIBITED WORK Works exhibited in PATTERNS must be picked up after close of show on Sunday, March 5, 2017, between 4 – 6 PM or Monday, March 6, 2017 from 12 – 2 PM. Works must be picked up on time. Please make alternative arrangements in advance if you are unable to pick up your work during these times. We are unable to store work at the gallery. Work left beyond the pickup dates is subject to a $5 per day holding fee. EXHIBITION CALENDAR
