Administrative Assistant I Purpose

Purpose: Provide customer service to clients as well as assistance to the Director of Classroom Technology and the department with a variety of administrative and clerical duties. Essential Functions

Function 1: Receive and process incoming customer telephone and email inquiries in a timely manner. Enter customer help requests and the completion information of requests into the University's ITSM system. Determines work priority and schedules accordingly. 65 % Time Function 2: Provide day to day clerical support to the Director of Classroom Technology and the department as a whole requiring an understanding of the functions, programs and policies of the University. Maintain accurate customer and departmental files. Will help maintain financial ledgers, departmental logs, prepare vouchers for payment or reimbursement and coordinate some travel if need arises. Works closely with administrative assistant of reporting unit. 25 % Time Function 3: Maintain calendar(s) and arrange meetings. Receive and distribute out department mail. Acts as a unit liaison with other departments and with outside agencies. 10 % Time Marginal/Incidental Functions

Marginal/Incidental Functions: Other functions as assigned. Qualifications

Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with 1 year upper level secretarial experience OR High School with 5 years of increasingly responsible administrative, secretarial and clerical experience. Knowledge of personal computer, software and other standard office equipment. Experience with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc).
