RAIFFEISENBANK BUYS CITI´S PERSONAL INSTALLMENT LOAN PORTFOLIO

Raiffeisenbank and Citibank Europe plc organizační složka, came to an agreement on Citibank’s portfolio of personal installment loans. Customers of the portfolio with the approximate value of 750 million CZK thus newly become Raiffeisenbank clients, while conditions of their credit remain unchanged. Both banks agreed on keeping details of the transaction confidential.

Citibank and Raiffeisenbank today announced the completion of a sale of Citibank’s personal installment loans portfolio to Raiffeisenbank. Customers of the portfolio with the approximate value of 750 million CZK thus newly become Raiffeisenbank clients as of May 1, 2010. „We are still seeking opportunities to accelerate our growth. In addition, with the economy recovery we intend to increase our lending activities. The acquisition of this portfolio fits well in this strategy and confirms our interest in strengthening our market share in key segments of the Czech Market”, says Mario Drosc, Deputy General Manager of Raiffeisenbank.

"As a part of the regular evaluation of our business strategy, product proposition and customer segments we have decided to sell a selected part of our loan portfolio to Raiffeisenbank,“ said George Denisenko, Consumer Lending Head at Citibank in the Czech Republic and he adds: „ The personal loan portfolio that is being sold is part of Citibank legacy business acquired in 2006 – 2008 and constitues less than 1% of our total assets in the Czech Republic."

Selling of the loan portfolio means no changes for client - the amount of monthly installment remains the same, as well as interest rate and time for repayment. The only change thus will be the new number of account to which the installments should be credited. „Jointly with Citibank we have started to inform the clients about this change,“ Mario Drosc added.

Clients thus should adjust their banker´s order as soon as possible so that their credit repayment continues without any complications. No further activity from their part is necessary.

Raiffeisenbank also prepared a special offer for these new clients - administration of eKonto free of charge for 6 months - even in case of not fulfilling the standard loyalty conditions. These newly acquired clients will find eKonto useful as it will provide them with the online access to all information about their credit.

As of December 2009, Citibank Europe plc, organizační složka manages an overall balance sheet of 106 billion CZK across its corporate and consumer banking franchise. “We are committed and excited about the growth plans for our consumer banking business in the Czech Republic. We service over 200,000 clients offering deposits, wealth management solutions, credit card and loan products across different market segments. Citibank is continuously developing new lending product propositions which are better aligned with its business strategy and the requirements of its customer segments” comments George Denisenko.

In the Czech Republic Raiffeisenbank aims at serving mainly individuals with above-average income, entrepreneurs and large corporations. This year the bank wants to concentrate on serving the so-called premium clients under its brand Raiffeisen Premium Banking. These premium clients will be offered more convenient banking services, individual approach and emphasis on financial consultant services and high quality services.
