PRESIDENT’S PAGE

Dear Eta Tau Sisters,

October is finally here with cooler weather and some much needed rain. It is amazing how much better my yard looks – I actually have flowers blooming! My son’s wedding in Hilton Head, SC was beautiful. The weather was perfect and the bride and groom were so excited. I was a little nervous, but all of the wedding plans which were made by phone and email worked out great. I will bring pictures to our meeting.

Our September meeting was enjoyed by all. The interesting and informative program, Myths and Truths about Hospice, was presented by Debbie Giossi who is an RN, Clinical Liaison for Odyssey Hospice and of course Mary Wallace’s sister. Kudos to Mary and the Program Committee for making this program possible. Thanks to the hostesses for the lovely refreshments and to those who brought useful raffle prizes. Our service project is to provide needed supplies for Hospice for several months.

Our October meeting will be Monday, October 19th at 6:45. The pogram will be presented by one of our own members, Murphy McBride, who is a PPCD teacher at Mills Elementary. Her topic will be Brain Research – Implications for Teaching. She will have lots of interesting stories about how she uses this research in her special education classroom. Our business meeting will be short, so we will have plenty of time to enjoy the program and visit with everyone.

Don’t forget to bring:

 New or gently used sheets for the Hospice patients

 Dues - $77.00 for active dues $38.50 for reserve dues

See you on the 19th! Janie
