In response to the questions posed:
1. We do not have information for 20 years as requested. The first play area was installed at Lady Goodwin’s Corner in 1995 at a cost to the Parish Council of £25,000. In 1998 the remainder of this site was being prepared for use by the Tennis and Bowls Clubs. The Parish Council paid for the clearance costs and assisted both clubs to become established by providing grants over a period of years amounting to £5000 each. A lease was later agreed at zero rent in order to continue to support the clubs; has a rent been applied the cost to both clubs over the 13 year period would have been circa £25,000 each. This represents massive support for the provision of facilities for young people in Farnsfield, all out of Parish Council funds; in cash or in kind. In relation to grants - £19,000 was received from the Wilson Home development as a S106 grant in 2001. This money was used as part of the provision of the multi play area on Wilsons field at a total cost of £54,000; the remainder of the money from Parish Council funds – another major provision of facilities and resources for young people by the Parish Council. In 2002 a further S106 grant of £29,505 was received from the housing development on Tippings Lane and in 2008 a further grant of £13,907 was received from the Main Street (old school) site. A breakdown of the expenditure against these two amounts is attached. A total of £18,812.84 remains from these two grants. No money has been spent on Cricket facilities nor has any been spent on football as the Parish Council owns and maintains the football pitches and charges pitch rental.

Details of the money spent is attached. It has all been used for the maintenance, repair and replacement of equipment in the children’s play areas on Wilson’s Field, Parfitt Drive and Lady Goodwin’s Corner. The repairs result from equipment being broken, vandalised or wearing out. Some has been replaced. The wet pour surfaces have been replaced in some areas and repaired in others. 3. Yes the Parish Council does hold funds specifically identified to be spent on young people for recreational purposes – as previously stated £18,812.84p 4. None of this money is available for funding support. It is for use by the Parish Council to maintain the current equipment; some is now in need of replacement and this amount will only be a contribution.
The above has been discussed with Farnsfield Parish Council and approved.
