Job Title Talent Match Project Manager

Contract: Fixed Term till end December 2018

Location: The Project will operate in Essex, Kent and East Sussex so the successful candidate will need to be in a location that can access all 3 easily, for example South East or East London. You could be based from home or from our London N1 office.

Hours: 3 days / 21 hours per week

Salary: £27,000 p.a. pro rata for part time work

Talent Match

The Area South team is looking for an experienced Project Manager to oversee the Talent Match pilot programme until the end of 2018.

The Talent Match project is a national programme which aims to increase the employability prospects of 18-24 year-olds. This role is to manage the project in Essex, Kent & East Sussex, specifically the Employer Network component. The project is funded by a grant from the Big Lottery.

Purpose of Job

This exciting role will help deliver and shape a project which will significantly increase the organisation’s reach into areas of greatest need across the UK.

Main Responsibilities / Accountabilities

The Talent Match Project Manager will be responsible for the successful operation of the Talent Match project including:

o Operational responsibility for the employer network across Essex, Kent and East Sussex. o Responsibility for BITC’s relationship with project partners (particularly the Prince’s Trust, who are managing the programme and Groundwork who are potential sub-contractors) and ensuring effective management of the delivery. o Responsible for co-ordination of delivery and information capture relating to the grant BITC will receive. o Responsible for all documentation and co-ordination of financial management alongside the Area Finance Manager and the Prince’s Trust Talent Match Manager.

 Collating learning to inform development of Talent Match nationally – including relationships with other areas of BITC.

 Day-to-day project management of any programme staff and contracts.

 Managing an employer network in each of three counties and an overall champion’s network.

 Manage and facilitate the 3 local employer networks and one employer champion group. Through these networks:

o Generate 2,125 work placements and work tasters;

o Involve and support young people to have an active role in identifying and recruiting suitable employers to the Groups.

o Create the ‘business case’ for the programme to employers who are potentially able to support the project, including producing case studies and media stories, and develop effective managing and reporting of the Network.

o Run 'Seeing Is Believing' visits in each locality, which are visits to businesses to encourage them to become involved in Talent Match

o Explore and encourage long-term solutions to address the travel barrier for unemployed young people, including involving private sector travel companies

Other  Ensure that health and safety requirements are met in the areas for which the jobholder is responsible.  The post holder may be required to carry out other duties that are reasonably to be considered as within the scope and purpose of the job and the aptitudes of the job holder.

Annual leave

Business in the Community offers employees 25 days annual leave each year, and our holiday year runs from January to December. This rises on a sliding scale to a maximum of 30 days after 10 years service.

Employees can also "buy" more holiday entitlement or "sell" days unused.

Pensions

We operate a Group Personal Pension scheme, which employees can join after three months' service. Business in the Community will contribute up to 5% of salary providing the individual contributes a minimum of 2.5%.

Season ticket Loan

We offer interest-free loans for annual Season Ticket Travel to all staff.

Business in the Community participates in the HMRC recognised Childcare Voucher salary sacrifice scheme. Our provider is currently Edenred.

Employees are encouraged to volunteer in their local communities. You will have the opportunity to take part in volunteering activities with your team whilst working in Business in the Community and we will also allow you two days additional paid leave to volunteer in work time.

Life assurance
