Skill or Command:

Use control + a to select all. Hold shift with arrows to select text. Select from cursor to end of sentence with shift + END. Use shift + HOME to select from cursor to sentence beginning. Control + shift + m will cause Window-Eyes to read selected text.

What does it do?

With the commands for highlighting text, text can be selected. Text can then be moved around or deleted as necessary when editing documents. Control + shift + m will allow students to double check that they have selected the text they want to work with.

Try It:

1. Open a Microsoft Word document that has text.

2. Use the commands listed for selecting text. 3. Instruct students to select specified text in the document.

4. Students can determine if the correct text was selected by using control + shift + m. The selected text will be read by Window-Eyes.

5. Practice selecting text.
