Monday---Morning Math: Topic 13 Time Study Guide Common Core Standards: 1.MD.3 Vocabulary Review: hour hand, hour, minute hand, o’clock, schedule Objectives: Students will identify the hour and minute hands on a clock, tell and write the time to the hour using digital and analog clocks, show and tell time to the half hour, and read and use schedules to solve problems. Class will use Big Book story, “Parade Time” to review telling time to the hour. Teacher will pass out study guide packet. Students will practice answering questions with teacher help as needed. After work time, class will discuss each question and what answer that they should have marked on their study guide. Class will also answer a Performance Task question, also provided in the study guide packet. Students will have different answers. Students will be given work time on this task, with teacher’s help provided as needed. Teacher will check students’ work on this task after work time. Students will take study guide home to review for an assessment tomorrow.

Monday---Afternoon Math: Lesson 14-4: Collecting Data Using Tally Marks Common Core Standard: 1.MD.4 Objective: Students will record data using tally marks. Vocabulary: tally marks, data Teacher will introduce today’s lesson 14-4 with computer CD topic 14 lesson 4. 1. Daily Common Core Review worksheet 14-4: Teacher will place the worksheet under the document camera. Students will discuss to complete together to review the concepts: patterns in related facts, using graphs, and comparing numbers. 2. Develop the Concept: Interactive: (packet sheet 449): Teacher will pass out lesson 14-4 packet to students and will follow directions in teacher’s guide pg. 449 for students to complete packet sheet 449. This will include recording information as you collect it in a way that makes it easier to count. 3. Develop the Concept: Visual: Teacher will discuss the tops of packet sheets 450-451 under the document camera to model how you can learn to use tally marks to keep track of information, or data, that you collect. Skip count by 5’s to count tally marks. Also, class will work together on problems on packet sheets 450-452 to answer questions on sheets and those questions given in teacher’s guide for teacher to ask same pages 450-452. 4. Independent Practice: Students will complete Practice workbook pg. 14-4. Students are NOT allowed to write in workbook. They have to use notebook paper to write their answers on. Tuesday---Afternoon Math: Lesson 14-5: Making Real Graphs Common Core Standard: 1.MD.4 Objective: Students will collect a set of data and organize it in a real graph. Teacher will introduce today’s lesson 14-5 with computer CD topic 14 lesson 5. 1. Daily Common Core Review worksheet 14-5: Teacher will place the worksheet under the document camera. Students will discuss to complete together to review the concepts: measuring length, using graphs, and writing numbers. 2. Develop the Concept: Interactive: (packet sheet 453): Teacher will pass out lesson 14-5 packet to students and will follow directions in teacher’s guide pg. 453 for students to complete packet sheet 453. This will include using data in a tally chart to make a real graph. 3. Develop the Concept: Visual: Teacher will discuss the tops of packet sheets 454-455 under the document camera to model how you can make a real graph with information you collect. Class will also discuss how to play the family game for when they get home. Lesson 15-1: Identifying Plane Shapes Common Core Standard: 1.G.1 Objective: Students will identify and name standard plane shapes and recognize them in the environment. Vocabulary: plane shapes, hexagon, trapezoid Teacher will introduce today’s lesson 15-1 with computer CD topic 15 lesson 1. 1. Daily Common Core Review worksheet 15-1: Teacher will place the worksheet under the document camera. Students will discuss to complete together to review the concepts: comparing and ordering numbers, solving two-digit subtraction, and identifying inverse operations. 2. Friday Afternoon Math: Topics 15 Geometry and 16 Fractions Introduction Our end of the year test is next week. We have not finished topics 15 or 16 yet this year. So, I thought that I would use the videos on the Envision Math CD and Reteaching Packets to try to introduce the concepts the best that I can in case these topics are on our end of the year test.
