Acknowledgement I acknowledge that I have been advised of, and understand the following: During the course of employment, I may be given access to funds, equipment, and other valuable material belonging to the State of Texas. I understand that I have a lawful obligation to safeguard such resources. During the course of employment, I may come to have knowledge or reasonable suspicion of wrongful/illegal activities on the state facility campus. I agree to notify the superintendent or the person designated of any wrongful or illegal activities on this campus and to cooperate with them regarding any matter under investigation.
I understand that the following procedures may be used at the state facility: If reasonable suspicion exists, my supervisors may request to inspect my personal property, including purses, wallets, handbags, shopping bags, brief cases, valuables, personally owned vehicles, and certain state property under my control, including desks, file cabinets, credenzas, or similar items. I may be asked to sign a personal acknowledgement statement giving permission to search. Unannounced random inspections may be conducted using dogs trained to search for illegal substances, weapons, and explosives. These investigations may result in a local law enforcement agency conducting a search of my personal and state belongings. I may be directed to stay at the site of an incident and I may be denied permission to leave during the course of this investigation. My failure to remain at the site of the investigation as directed may result in disciplinary action, including termination. I may be asked to take a voluntary polygraph examination.
