Objective:

Using TPS’s techniques, management methods and philosophy Monclova inflator department will learn best manufacturing practices through creating a model line and spraying the results to the other lines.

Results will be defined as improvements from the initial condition in term of: - Labor efficiency - Operational availability - Quality - Manufacturing lead-time (batch size) - Organizational learning (intangible measure)

TPS hours:

1 week per months plus follow-up on action items. Regular TPS hours for the team are as defined below.

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 8:30am – 12:30pm, 1:00pm – 5:30pm

Friday, 8:00am - 10:30am

However, hours of TPS activity may be changed as required to align to shift break and schedules (night and swing).

TPS Team Ground Rules:

 Think aggressively  Full pro-active involvement  Stick to the defined schedule  TPS Team member must have a back-up defined while in TPS  When in TPS, member are not to be disturbed unless emergency defined as: o Safety related event (work or outside of work) o Line is stopped o Bad quality being passed to next process (customer)  Ok to push and challenge each other  Willing to work and implement on all shifts  Document results  Build personal know-how
