[3545] 2 1 Whereas, as a nationally certified instructor through Oklahoma 2 State University, Fire Marshal Allen has served as an adjunct 3 professor of fire and arson investigation and fire code enforcement 4 at the South Carolina Fire Academy and as a guest instructor of 5 arson investigation at the South Carolina Criminal Justice 6 Academy; and 7 8 Whereas, he has served his profession as the founder of the 9 Midlands Fire Marshals Association, as a member of the board of 10 directors of the South Carolina State Firefighters’ Foundation and 11 the Irmo Fire District Foundation, and as a member of the South 12 Carolina Firefighters Legislative committee; and 13 14 Whereas, deeply committed to his community, Fire Marshal Allen 15 has served on the advisory board for Safe Kids Midlands/Buckle 16 Buddies of Children’s Hospital since 1998, and on the board of 17 directors of the South Carolina Children’s Trust from 2013 to 18 2016; and 19 20 Whereas, the members of the South Carolina General Assembly 21 are grateful for the years of unparalleled dedication that Fire 22 Marshal Jeff Allen has devoted to the Irmo Fire District and wish 23 him many years of enjoyment in his wellearned retirement. Now, 24 therefore, 25 26 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate 27 concurring: 28 29 That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South 30 Carolina, by this resolution, recognize and honor Jeff Allen, Irmo 31 Fire Marshal, upon the occasion of his retirement after twentytwo 32 years of outstanding service, and wish him continued success and 33 happiness in all his future endeavors. 34 35 Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to 36 Jeff Allen, Irmo Fire Marshal. 37 XX 38
