Dear Fellow Fencers,

The Fencing Club of the University of Hong Kong Students Union would like to invite you to participate in our latest competition - The University of Hong Kong Fencing Open Tournament 2011.

The University of Hong Kong Fencing Open Tournament 2011 features the “open team” category. This class of competition is rarely held in Hong Kong. You will be competing not only against teams formed by school teams and fencing clubs, but also teams formed by independent fencers in the open category. This is the chance to team up with your friends and face challenges together.

The competition general information is as follow: Date: 22nd (Sat) & 23rd (Sun) October, 2011 Venue: Flora Ho Sports Centre, The University of Hong Kong (111-113 Pokfulam Road) Events: Men’s & Women’s Team Foil, Men’s and Women’s Team Epee, Men’s & Women’s Team Sabre Fee: $240 per team, per event Schedule: (This is only an estimated schedule; It can vary all depends on the number of participants.) Men’s and Women’s Team Foil roll call Day 2 Men’s and Women’s Team Epee roll call Men’s and Women’s Team Sabre roll call Rules and  All times refer to close of registration; all participants should arrive 15 Regulations: minutes earlier.  No participants are allowed to sign up or compete for more than one team for the same event.  The maximum number of members in each team is 4.  The competition is generally run under FIE Rules; the competition formula is one round of pools followed by Direct Elimination. (The organisers reserve the right to randomly assign teams into direct elimination depending on the number of participants  Full fencing uniform and gear prepared by each participant. The mask and uniform must comply with the standard EN13567:2002 and 350N of the min. penetration force. Please refer to our webpage at http://www.hkfa.org.hk for details. The ground supervisor has the discretion to disqualify any participant who doesn’t comply with the uniform rules.  Participants have to report in person during the reporting time at the reporting desk. Late comers will be disqualified. Applicants need to make the payment, and reply the application form with: 1. crossed cheque payable to

 We accept applications both via email and by post.  Please put the names of the teams, and the participating event(s) in the remark(s) of deposit form while making the payment. This is only for reference.  Once both the payment and the application form are received ON TIME, the application will be qualified. It will be confirmed by email.  Any application forms with scan/original deposit receipts or cheques must be received on or before the application deadline, via post or email. We NEITHER accept any applications after the application deadline NOR welcome ‘walk-in’ on the completion day.  Application Deadline: 14th October 2011 (Friday) 11:59pm  Fees and registrations on competition cannot be transferred from one applicant to another, in case of any withdrawal, there will be no refund.
