On joint motion of all Councilmembers present, the following resolution was offered at the request of Mr. Congemi: RESOLUTION NO. 116267 A resolution granting permission to the Patrons of Lafreniere Park, Inc. represented by Ms. Mary Virginia “Ginger” Crawford, 4109 North Turnbull Drive, Metairie, Louisiana 70002, to conduct a fund raiser "Taste of the Town" at Lafreniere Park on Friday, March 25, 2011 from 7:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m, with a rain out date of Sunday, March 27, 2011, from 7:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m.; to allow the serving of beverages, food, liquor and beer in conformance with Parish and Park guidelines and agreements; and to allow live music (provided that the Parish noise ordinance is observed in all cases) on Friday, March 25, 2011, until 11:00 p.m. or until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 27, 2011 (rain out date), in connection therewith, for the purpose of raising money for Patrons of Lafreniere Park, Inc. for improvements to Lafreniere Park and to the Louisiana Restaurant Association for culinary education; provided that all necessary permits have been obtained from the Department of Inspection and Code Enforcement, the Department of Citizens’ Affairs, the Department of Recreation, the Jefferson Parish Fire Department, the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office and from the State of Louisiana Office of Beverage Control to conduct such a fund raiser and that all requirements and regulations of said departments and Lafreniere Park are met, and all required fire regulations are met, and waiving all Jefferson Parish taxes and fees for said permits. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Jefferson Parish Council of Jefferson Parish, acting as governing authority of said parish: SECTION I. That permission be and is hereby granted to Patrons of Lafreniere Park, Inc., represented by Ms. Mary Virginia “Ginger” Crawford, 4109 North Turnbull Drive, Metairie, Louisiana 70065, to conduct a fund raiser "Taste of the Town" at Lafreniere Park on Friday, March 25, 2011, from 7:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m., with a rain out date of Sunday, March 27, 2011, from 7:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m.; and to allow the serving of beverages, food, alcoholic beverages and beer; in conformance with Parish and Park guidelines and agreements; and to allow live music (provided that the Parish noise ordinance is observed in all cases) on Friday, March 25, 2011, until 11:00 p.m. or until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 27, 2011 (rain out date), in connection therewith; and waiving all Jefferson Parish taxes and fees for said permits. SECTION II. That Thursday, March 24, 2011, is approved as an official "delivery date" for the purpose of receiving beer and alcoholic beverages from suppliers and wholesalers for sale during the official days of said festival, and that no dispensing or sale of said beer and alcoholic beverages be allowed on March 24, 2011. SECTION III. That this permission is granted provided that all necessary permits have been obtained from the Department of Inspection and Code Enforcement, the Department of Citizens’ Affairs, the Department of Recreation, the Jefferson Parish Fire Department, the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office and from the State of Louisiana Office of Alcohol Beverage Control to conduct such a festival and that all indemnification and insurance requirements set forth by the Jefferson Parish Director of the Department of Loss Control and all federal, state and local laws, ordinances and regulations are met; and that all requirements and regulations of said departments and Lafreniere Park are met; and that all required fire regulations are met. SECTION IV. That all proceeds from said fund raiser will go to Patrons of Lafreniere Park, Inc. for improvements to Lafreniere Park and to the Louisiana Restaurant Association for culinary education and that no compensation will be paid to anyone for services rendered in connection with said fund raiser. SECTION V. That a certified copy of this resolution be forwarded to Ms. Ginger Crawford, 4109 North Turnbull Drive, Metairie, Louisiana 70002; Patrons of Lafreniere Park, 3000 Downs Boulevard, Metairie, Louisiana 70003 and all departments in connection therewith. The foregoing resolution having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows: YEAS: 7 NAYS: None ABSENT: None The resolution was declared to be adopted on this the 23rd day of February, 2011.
