CLASSROOM RULES- MR. SUROWITCH

Respect is a two-way street. It goes both ways. Show respect and thereby earn respect.

Students will be responsible and accountable for their actions. All actions have consequences.

Bullying, Hazing, Profanity and Foul Language of any kind will not be tolerated.

Usage of cell phones, head phones, pagers, MP3 players, IPods, etc., without permission, will not be tolerated and will result in loss of credit. No exceptions! No Cell Phones! Turn them off!

Students will not explain why they can’t, but demonstrate that they can.

Any students late for class must have a signed planner, in ink.

Students will enter the class ON TIME, prepared to work, with planners and textbooks, something to write on and something to write with.

Eating or drinking in class is prohibited. When done with your gum, throw it out! No eating or drinking!

Read all directions twice before acting upon them.

If you have any questions, raise your hand and wait to be recognized before voicing them.

A request for a pass is a privilege, not a right. Don’t abuse it. Kindly fill out your planner. IN INK. Passes will only be given out between 10:00 AM and 10:15 AM, and again at 2:50 PM to 2:59 PM. If you need to use the bathroom, go in your shop, after lunch, during your gym class, on in-between classes (don’t be late!).

Homework is to be submitted when due. No homework- no credit. Late homework will not be accepted. All homework is to go into the “Magic Box”

The focus in this class will be on History. Anything else will be unacceptable.

When absent, students will be responsible for finding out what work they’ve missed. Students will be responsible for making up all work they’ve missed.

All work submitted will include name, date, and period.

Please leave the classroom in the same condition it was in when entered.

Class participation will include asking and answering questions as well as reading aloud. Talking in class is rude, unacceptable, and disruptive and will result in loss of credit.

Students sleeping in class will be “PROTOCOLED”

DO NOT LEAN BACK AGAINST THE WALLS! LOSS OF CREDIT FOR THE FOLLOWING: Any and all electronic devices, class disruption, lateness, unprepared for class CVE and college recommendations

Come prepared to class- paper, writing utensil

Homework on time or it will not be accepted

All assignments must have name, date, and the assignment title or it will be destroyed with no credit given.

You will be required to access the internet for many assignments. If you have no home internet access, go to the library. Can’t make it to the library? I will be in school at 8 AM so you can use the school library. That doesn’t work for you? Tough!

Until further notice: all written assignments will be written on every other line

RULES: 1. Show up everyday- on time! Show up prepared- with textbook, with something to write on and something to write with. 2. All manner of personal electronic devices are prohibited. That means no cell phones, no texting, no iPods, no earphones, NO EXCEPTIONS! 3. No eating or drinking in the classroom. 4. Passes are a privilege, not a right. Don’t ask. Late students must have their own planner, signed in ink. 5. Profanity, bullying, and hazing will not be tolerated.

GRADES: Grades are calculated in the following manner 30% = tests 20% = class participation 25% = quizzes 25% = homework/classwork

Tests may include true/false, multiple choice, fill-in, short answer, essays, or research assignments. Quizzes will be similar in content, just shorter. Class participation grades include answering and asking questions, attitude, lateness, PEDs, disruptiveness, etc. Homework must be submitted on time or it will not be accepted.
