Here Is a List of What You Need to Do If You Plan to Compete This Spring

Highlands High School Girls' Track and Field State Champs 2008-2011 Highlands Track and Field practice will begin February 6th at the track in Tower Park!!! Weather permitting and hopefully we avoid snow! Prepare yourself by dressing appropriately with hats, gloves, pants, etc…Be warm! An announcement will be made at school and I will send a text if the weather looks too bad for practice each Sunday for the week (if I don’t have your number yet, please stop by my room or email me)

Middle school runners will practice Monday-Thursday at 3:45. Practice should usually conclude around 5pm. If a middle school student competes for the varsity team, or ran in varsity races last year, they will be practicing every weekday. I realize that many students have a number of activities they are involved with, and our coaches will work together to accommodate various schedules. That being said, practice is the key to success in track and field since many workouts are specific to individual events..

Here is a list of what you need to do if you plan to compete this spring.

1. Physical. (If you competed in a Fall/Winter sport for HHS or HMS, you should have one on file. Otherwise, the form is attached to have completed by a physician. You will NOT be able to practice without a Physical form until it is turned in to Coach Alessandro. 2. The attached transportation form is necessary for travel throughout the season and needs to be returned (preferably with the physical) 3. Highlands Athletic Dept. charges a $90 athletic fee to participate. This fee would be due by March 1st .

Parents, If you would like to be available to help out throughout the season as a parent volunteer either at practices, in the background regarding paperwork, etc.. please email me and let me know!! [email protected]

Run Happy,

Coach Alessandro
