1 [1173-1] 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 10 11 TO DECLARE WEDNESDAY, MARCH 22, 2006, AS 12 “CREATING SOLUTIONS FOR DISABILITIES DAY” TO 13 ENDORSE THE “BUCK-A-CUP CAMPAIGN” AND OTHER 14 PROGRAMS OF EASTER SEALS SOUTH CAROLINA, AND 15 TO PROVIDE FOR A JOINT SESSION OF THE GENERAL 16 ASSEMBLY IN THE HALL OF THE HOUSE OF 17 REPRESENTATIVES ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 22, 2006, 18 AT WHICH TIME THE STATE EASTER SEAL AND 19 “BUCK-A-CUP” REPRESENTATIVES WILL BE PRESENTED 20 TO THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY. 21 22 Whereas, Easter Seals South Carolina has again embarked upon its 23 most worthwhile project to raise funds for people with disabilities, 24 culminating in the 55th annual “Buck-A-Cup Campaign” in South 25 Carolina on Coffee Day, Good Friday, April 14, 2006; and 26 27 Whereas, under the statewide leadership of Gene Rountree, 28 Chairman, Easter Seals South Carolina Board of Directors, ably 29 assisted by Director Timothy W. James, President of the South 30 Carolina Law Enforcement Officers’ Association, Alisa Mosley, 31 Executive Director of the South Carolina Law Enforcement 32 Officers’ Association, Sam Erb, State President of the South 33 Carolina Restaurant Association, and Thomas L. Sponseller, 34 Executive Director of the South Carolina Restaurant Association, 35 this program is destined to raise thousands of dollars to aid our 36 very deserving children and adults and to assist them in creating 37 solutions for their challenges; and 38 39 Whereas, the “B.A.C.” buttons go on sale Wednesday, March 22, 40 2006; and 41

1 [1173] 1 1 Whereas, the “B.A.C.” project and all other programs of Easter 2 Seals South Carolina deserve the support, merit, and praise of all 3 residents of this State. Now, therefore, 4 5 Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives 6 concurring: 7 8 That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this 9 resolution, declare Wednesday, March 22, 2006, as “Creating 10 Solutions for Disabilities Day” in South Carolina and that 11 representatives of Easter Seals South Carolina, the South Carolina 12 Law Enforcement Officers’ Association, and the South Carolina 13 Restaurant Association, be presented in Joint Session of the 14 General Assembly in the Hall of the House of Representatives on 15 Wednesday, March 22, 2006. 16 17 Be it further resolved that the General Assembly extends to Easter 18 Seals South Carolina and its many dedicated supporters its sincere 19 wishes for continued success in its many outstanding and 20 compassionate programs on behalf of persons with special needs. 21 ----XX---- 22
