Team Jeopardy!
NAME OF ACTIVITY UNIT: Making Decisions
TASK: Define terms related to making decisions.
ACTIVITY TYPE: SCANS, Integration
APPROXIMATE TIME: One class period
MATERIALS: Jeopardy questions (different levels of difficulty)
PROCEDURE:
1. Divide students into three or four teams.
2. Explain the rules of jeopardy. Have a different category for each vocabulary term. Within each category, have three levels of difficulty, each successive level being worth more points.
3. Instead of using buzzers, consider using some type of action, such as the first team to raise their flag, to determine which team can answer the question.
4. Once a team has been called upon, they have five seconds to answer the question. In the event that they miss the question, the other teams get to try to answer it.
5. If a team does not answer a question correctly, they lose the number of points the question was worth. Points are also deducted for misbehavior of any team member.
6. Remind the students that their answers must be given in the form of a question.
ENRICHMENT: Include vocabulary terms from other subject areas or previously studied units as daily doubles.
