I. PURPOSE The Turtle Bay Foundation was established in 2012 to enrich Oahu’s North Shore through environmental, educational, recreational and cultural opportunities. The Foundation oversees the numerous charitable contributions of Turtle Bay Resort, acting as a partner in the community and supporting the resort’s mission of making one of the world’s greatest places even better.

II. SCHOLARSHIPS The Turtle Bay Foundation Scholarship is designed to award one-year educational scholarships. The amount of the scholarships will be determined by the availability of funds. Determination of award winners will be made by the Turtle Bay Foundation Scholarship Committee in its sole discretion. Scholarships funds will be released once confirmation of registration into educational program has been received by the foundation.

III. SELECTION OF RECIPIENTS  Scholarship recipients will be selected on the following competitive basis by using a combination of criteria, depending on class level:  Academic Performance: includes high school/college grades, class rank.  3 .3 o r b ette r on a 4.0 grading scale GPA. Consideration will be given to applicants who are high school seniors however current college students are encouraged to apply.  Financial Need, Academic & Personal References  Extracurricular activities will help the Committee further evaluate the candidate's interest and abilities.  Community Involvement. Contributions to the community may be demonstrated by involvement in local clubs, organizations and associations. Extracurricular activities should be documented by type and years of service.

IV. ANNOUNCEMENT OF WINNERS Successful applicants will be mailed an official notice of success and any terms associated with their scholarship within ten days of the Foundation’s decision. As a condition of entry into the competition, applicants agree to allow the Foundation to publish their names as scholarship winners and have their photograph used publicly.

1. Applications must be returned or post marked to the Turtle Bay Foundation by 3 PM on Friday, October 13, 2017. Applications may be mailed through the postal service. 2. Return address: Turtle Bay Foundation, 57-091 Kamehameha Hwy, Kahuku, Hawaii 96731 3. Applicants MUST be a Hawaii resident and reside between Mokuleia and Kualoa or have a parent that has been employed at Turtle Bay Resort or Turtle Bay Golf for the last 5 years. 4. The enclosed academic & personal reference form should be completed by your high school principal, teacher, guidance counselor, or a person who is k no w le d g e a b le o f y ou r: • High school experience • History of active participation in community efforts • Potential for successful college level study • Need for financial assistance for college expenses 5. Al on g w i t h e a c h a pp li c a t i on , th e a p p li c a n t m u s t: • Sign and date application • Include a copy of his/her most recent high school transcript. • Include a copy of his/her ACT/SAT test scores. • Contain the one page essay described on page 5 of the application form • Include one head shot photo of applicant (at least 5x7) • Include only 1 personal and 1 academic reference form 6.
