ARTICLE I Animation Club S Name, Purpose, and Policy

Constitution

ARTICLE I Animation Club’s Name, Purpose, and Policy Section 1. The name of this club is Animation Production Club.

Section 2. Purpose: a. To create animations as a team, delegating various steps as one would see in a professional environment; b. To bring interested parties together to expand their understanding of the animation medium; c. To study animations from both professional and independent contributors and analyze how each one might have been created.

Section 3. Non-Discrimination Policy: This organization does not discriminate on the basis of age, ancestry, color, disability, gender identity or expression, genetic information, HIV/AIDS status, military status, national origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, protected veteran status, or any other bases under the law, its activities, programs, admissions, and employment.

ARTICLE II Membership Section 1. Membership is open to all Ohio State students interested in animated media and art, who are currently enrolled and in good academic standing.

ARTICLE III Officers and Elections Section 1. The officers of this club include a President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Social Media chair, and Historian. Section 2. The Executive Committee of this organization is made up of the aforementioned officers. Section 3. Voting members of the club elect officers on a yearly basis, and all officers serve one-year terms unless re-elected.

ARTICLE IV Leadership’s Duties Section 1. The duties of the President are as follows: a. Serving as the chief administrative officer; b. Presiding over the organization’s meetings; c. Appointing members and chairmen of all committees; d. Serving on all committees as an ex-officio member; e. Calling special meetings of the membership; f. Initiating programs and projects he or she deems necessary; g. Representing the organization in all dealings with affiliated organizations, university administration, and the community.

Section 2. The duties of the Vice-President are as follows: a. Presiding over meetings of the organization in the absence of the President; b. Carrying out the duties and responsibilities assigned to him or her by the President; c. Defining all duties and responsibilities to chairmen and providing any assistance to the chairmen in fulfillment of their duties.

Section 3. The duties of the Treasurer are as follows: a. Being responsible for the accounting of all fees and other monies belonging to the organization; b. Collecting annual membership fees; c. Representing the organization at annual budget hearings d. Submitting per-semester budgets; e. In the absence of the President or Vice-President, presiding over the meeting of the organization.

Section 4. The duties of the Secretary are as follows: a. Assisting the President with the official correspondence of the organization; b. Maintain and distribute the minutes of all regular and special meetings of the organization; c. Keeping a revised copy of the constitution and bylaws available for members at all times and distribute any changes in the bylaws per semester; d. Preparing a roster each semester to include the address and telephone numbers of each member; e. In the absence of the President, Vice-President, or Treasurer, presiding over the meeting of the organization.

Article VI Method of Removing Officers and Members Section 1. If a member conducts themselves in such a manner deemed detrimental to advancing the purpose of this organization or is in violation of the Ohio State University Student Code of Conduct, they can be removed through a majority vote of the other voting membership or unanimous vote of the officers, with the consultation of the advisor.

Section 2. Any elected officer of the chapter may be removed for sufficient cause. Sufficient cause for removal includes, but is not limited to: violation of the constitution or by-laws or any conduct deemed prejudicial to the best interests of the club. Prior to a vote on the matter of removal of an elected officer, the club officers shall hold a formal hearing. The officer may present any defense to the charges before any action is taken. The club officers may act for removal upon a two- thirds affirmative vote.

Article VII Meetings of the Organization Section 1. There must be at least 2 meetings every month school is in session. Bi-weekly to weekly meeting schedule is recommended. Section 2. At each meeting, a member of the executive must be present. Section 3. The Hopkins Hall Lobby is the recommended meeting place. Time will be determined by what fits the majority of the membership.

Article IX Method of Amending Constitution and Bylaws Section 1. Amendments to the constitution and bylaws shall be submitted in writing one week prior to their consideration to the President. Section 2. These amendments will be discussed at the next scheduled meeting of the group. Section 3. All amendments will be required a two-thirds vote for passage. Bylaws

SPECIAL EVENTS Special events (such as trips to animation in movies/conventions, etc.) must meet with the approval of the group, at minimum one week before it is scheduled.

SHOWINGS OF ANIMATION Public showings of animation are only possible with the prior consent of the company that produced it, and are free for all the college community. Private showings of animation are only open to members of the club. These showings are private for three reasons: a. Films that we do not have official consent for public showing. b. For animation that is not deemed appropriate for public viewing by the membership. c. Films to be screened for public showing.

DONATIONS Section 1. If club member or a citizen in the community/university wish to make a donation to Animation Club, they may do so. Donations can either be by cash or by check to the organization. Section 2. Donations can be made at any public showing, or personally to officers. Section 3. Donated monies can only be used for the expressed purpose of the donator, or if not specified by the donator, for improving the club and its facilities.
