Friday Night Pizza
Pizza Nights are a wonderful opportunity to help our families wind down after a busy week of appointments.
How to get started Please view our meal program calendar and select an open date that works for your group. Email your request to our Activities Coordinator and she will confirm your date. When requesting a date include: 1. Full Name
2. Name of your group
3. Affiliation (company/organization, or personal)
4. Phone number
5. Email address
6. Mailing address (company/organization, or personal).
7. All volunteers must be 13 years old. Teens may participate in Pizza Night on a 1 to 1 ratio with adults. Will there be any teens in your group? If so, how many?
Important Information All members of your group must read Volunteer Guidelines prior to coming to the House. The group is responsible for purchasing pizza and dessert as well as setting up, serving, and cleaning. No onsite orientation is required. Information for the lead will be provided by phone. A kitchen supervisor will assist your group throughout the evening. All participants must be healthy with no symptoms of illness.
Food Details 1. All food is purchased “ready to serve.” No food may be prepared in a home kitchen. 2. There are no food restrictions to consider. 3. The volunteer group provides: 32 large, cooked pizzas delivered by the pizza restaurant to the House at 5:45. We suggest a selection of 4 types of pizzas. In general, pepperoni and Hawaiian are most popular, followed by cheese, sausage, or specialty pizzas. If ordering vegetarian pizzas, one is usually sufficient.

Food Safety Guidelines: 1. Stay home if you have any symptoms of illness. 2. Careful and frequent hand washing is the most important food safety tool. 3. Wear gloves whenever handling or serving food. Change gloves if you touch anything other than the food and utensils you are working with. 4. Sanitize counters, sinks, and buffet line with our sanitizer (DZ-7) before and after using them (spray, wait one minute, and dry with paper towels). 5. Package leftover pizza in house-supplied Ziploc bags labeled with the word “House” and the current date. Place in the leftover refrigerator.
Day-of logistics Arrive at 5:00 PM at House A (5130- 40th Ave NE, Seattle, 98105). For those unloading food, pull forward in the drive through. Carts are available in the lobby. Unload and then re-park your car. You may park on the street or in our parking garage located under the House. Check in at the front desk. The group lead fills out the In-Kind Donation/Group Sign-In Form in full, and all volunteers sign in. The form remains at the front desk throughout the evening. Begin service at 6:00 PM. When departing at the end of the night, the group lead notes departure time on the form, and takes the bottom pink copy. Most groups finish cleaning up and are ready for departure by 7:30 PM.
Neighborhood Pizza Restaurants The following are pizza restaurants in our neighborhood that are familiar with delivering to us. Some give us special rates. You are also welcome to choose any pizza restaurant of your choice. It is suggested that you place your order at least 24-48 hours in advance. The drivers are most appreciative of tips. If he is not available, the order may be placed with anyone, but request that Kosta be notified of the order for discount and delivery purposes. Amount to order: Their pizzas are large. Order 28 pizzas rather than 32 pizzas. Cost: $3 off large pizzas plus Varlamos will take 20% off the order. Delivery: Varlamos does not usually deliver (except via Bite Squad) but does deliver for the Ronald McDonald House.
