Dear Editor:

We wanted you to know about how your tax dollars are hard at work in support of National XX Month. On XXX, we will be hosting the Law Enforcement Fitness Specialist course from The Cooper Institute.

The Cooper Institute Law Enforcement Fitness Specialist Course aims to combat those injuries and preventable deaths by teaching the necessary training in fitness leadership and technical skills. In addition to education on anatomy; resistance and cardiovascular training; and nutrition, specific lectures on fitness testing and standards in law enforcement—are included. The attendees also undergo their own fitness assessments and some medical screenings.

“It has always been important for us to make the most up-to-date fitness information available to our staff,” said XXX, of XXX. “The Cooper Institute’s reputation in providing quality education in fitness training makes them a logical partner for us.”

The Cooper Institute (CI), established in 1970, is a 501.c.3. nonprofit research and education organization dedicated globally to preventive medicine. The Institute’s founder, Kenneth H. Cooper, M.D., M.P.H., the “Father of Aerobics,” was an Air Force physician who became interested in the role of exercise in preserving health. When he published his first best seller, Aerobics, in 1968, he introduced a new word and was the spark for millions to become active.

Those interested in attending the Law Enforcement Fitness Specialist course should call XX for more information.
