TITLE: WAKING NIGHT TEAM WORKER –HOUSING MANAGEMENT TEAM BASED: YORK RESPONSIBLE TO: NIGHT TEAM LEAD RESPONSIBLE FOR: N/A York Housing Support

Changing Lives, Community Links and Arc Light have been successful in the award of the Community Wellbeing Support Service in York.

Job Purpose

This is a role for a waking night staff member responsible for delivering a high quality housing management service to individuals in a hostel environment.

Job Responsibilities

Responsible for the welfare and safety of residents throughout the night and the safety and security of the building during this time.

To work collaboratively with the housing management team and support team with a commitment to efficient and effective service delivery.

Provide clear and concise handovers to the day staff ensuring risk information takes priority.

To work in an inclusive way with individuals.

Provide support and advice to individuals and signpost to key worker and other professionals for follow up where required.

Light cleaning duties.

To respond to welfare needs particularly relating to health.

To ensure the building is safe and secure at all times carrying out relevant health and safety checks and reporting any issues for follow up.

Ensuring clients are adhering to their licence agreement and accommodation terms.

Respond to any Anti-social behaviour, incidents or disruption in the building or in the local community.

Maintain accurate records and complete daily check lists, including housing benefit related administration.

General Present a professional image of Changing Lives at all times.

Comply with all legal and health and safety requirements.

Ensure services are delivered to agreed quality standards and good practice protocols

Maintain in depth and up-to-date knowledge of all Changing Lives practices, policies and procedures.

Participate in training, supervision and team meetings.

Support management in the delivery of a service that meets quality standard and good practice protocol.

Work to a rota pattern and provide flexibility for cover.

To undertake any other duties that may be seen to fall into the job responsibilities

To work to the performance standards provided and requested by Changing Lives.

Experience Experience of supporting socially disadvantaged and vulnerable people.

Experience of working in an environment that is health and safety conscience

Experience of working in an environment that requires confidentiality

Skills, Strong organisational skills Understanding of housing Knowledge benefit and void management and Abilities Strong communication skills

Ability to use basic Microsoft Office packages and internal IT systems
