POST: Traineeship Employment Coach (Burnley, Nelson & Colne)

SALARY: £23,791.50 per annum

SERVICE AREA: Information, Advice and Guidance Department

JOB PURPOSE: To play a key role in the organisation by helping to progress participants through our traineeship programme into sustainable employment, apprenticeship or further education.

Guide and encourage participants to develop their confidence and employability skills and offer appropriate information, advice and guidance to help them overcome their barriers to work.

To build and sustain working relationships with referral partners, training providers and employers to establish relevant provision and employment opportunities for participants.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. To liaise with relevant partners to gain referrals and to oversee smooth recruitment and selection of trainees.

2. To effectively maintain a caseload of participants ensuring their attendance to placements, regular one to ones, progress reviews and training sessions. Offer appropriate information, advice and guidance to help overcome their barriers to work, including sign posting to relevant support agencies and partners. 3. To gain work experience placements for our trainees, ensuring that it is the best match for the both the needs of the employer and the needs of the trainee.

4. Actively engage and enroll participants onto the Traineeship programme,

5. Devise and monitor the participants Action Plan and set SMART targets at each review stage.

6. Support the trainee when in work placement and check their progress regularly, implementing any relevant support where necessary.

7. Deliver, develop and review group workshop activity.

8. Achieve individual monthly outcome targets to meet the overall contract requirements. Ensuring programme participation and outcome evidence requirements are met. Work with IAG Officers, Mentors and Placements Officers to find appropriate placements, employment or further learning for our trainees.

9. Arrange Interviews for trainees with employers.

10. Arrange references for trainees with employers.

11. To promote our service using company marketing materials.

12. Conduct and gain risk assessments from employers and training providers.

13. Conduct and gain Work Experience Agreements from trainees and employers.

14. To produce timely and accurate reports relating to customer progression, referral activity and employer activity.

15. To provide a high quality service to participants and internal and external stakeholders.

16. Adhere to all safeguarding, data protection and confidentially policies and processes.

17. There may be a need to support flexible delivery (with out of hours service).

18. To be proactively involved in the work of a Corporate Group, in order to make an effective contribution to the successful achievement of the group’s aims and objectives.

19. To ensure principles of safe working practices and good health and safety are observed by participants at all times.

20. To carry out any other duties appropriate to this post as necessary or as requested.

Administration

1. To act as the first point of contact for day to day enquiries from staff, partners, trainees, and customers in respect of Traineeship programme.

2. To arrange and facilitate partnership meetings ensuring effective meetings for all concerned.

3. To manage all trainee information ensuring that systems and files are continuously updated.

4. To collect, record, and prepare performance information as directed.

5. To ensure that Calico is in receipt of, and shares, all information relating to training participants in compliance with the data protection act.

6. To order and arrange delivery of materials required for the training programme.

7. To carry out any other administrative duties arising through the day to day delivery of the Traineeship programme.

General

8. Share information and skills with the Regeneration team including providing training courses and individual development opportunities as requested.
