GOLD/ITALY 2017, THE JEWELLERY MADE IN ITALY SHOW, IS SET TO GO 21ST-23RD OCTOBER Among the new entries scheduled: the "Creative Design Lab // Jewels Lab Design" project and the #CreateYourLove contest
Arezzo, 10 October 2017 – Italian Exhibition Group S.p.A. (IEG), the company generated by the merger between Rimini Fiera and Fiera di Vicenza, announces the 5 th edition of GOLD/ITALY 2017, the international Show dedicated exclusively to jewellery Made in Italy, which will take place in Arezzo from Saturday 21st to Monday 23rd October 2017. Following an agreement signed last March with Arezzo Fiere e Congressi Srl to define a single organization specifically for gold and jewellery exhibitions in Italy, Italian Exhibition Group will directly manage GOLD/ITALY 2017, a promotion and visibility platform for the very best of Made in Italy gold and jewellery production.
Thanks to new system policies aimed at developing and promoting the entire Made in Italy division, over 300 selected brands by Italian companies, the most representative top quality gold and jewellery producers, will be participating at GOLD/ITALY 2017. Silverware and fashion jewellery will also be on display, all exclusively from the main gold districts: Arezzo, Vicenza, Valenza, Torre del Greco, Milan, Florence.
GOLD/ITALY 2017 thus confirms its role as an important stage for presenting new forms of gold and silver, the result of creativity, research, innovation, know-how and tradition that characterizes the long and consolidated Italian experience in the specific sectors of gold and jewellery. Moreover, GOLD/ITALY 2017, an internationally recognized, gold and jewellery Made in Italy Business Hub, is also an ideal place for defining new jewellery trends to present to national and international retailers and wholesalers, chain stores and TV networks, buyers in the fashion sector and top buyers from the world's leading, traditional and emerging markets: United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, USA, China, Saudi Arabia, Asia, India, Middle East, North and South Africa, the Balkan states and ex Soviet Union, Canada and South America. For this new edition of GOLD/ITALY, the installation devised by Beppe Angiolini, Art Director of GOLD/ITALY and OROAREZZO and Honorary President of the Camera Nazionale Buyer Moda, will welcome visitors to the Arezzo Fiere e Congressi exhibition centre and introduce “The Circle”, linked to the theme of timeless jewellery, as the common denominator of the 5th edition.
The idea for the #CreateYourLove contest arose from this concept, devised by Beppe Angiolini: starting from the circle, a key element in "sinacolas", exhibiting company designers are invited to create a necklace that, inspirationally and emotionally, transmits a feeling of love and eternity, the idea of "timeless" and "forever". All the items will be inspired by “sinacolas”, a precious trinket from the past, necklaces consisting of low value gold balls that mothers and nannies used as far back as the 1600s to calm the children with their sound and shapes. In this way GOLD/ITALY 2017 aims to highlight jewellery's role as a precious item that goes beyond time and transmits powerful emotional content when, in this case, inspired by the circle with its highly symbolic perfection, evokes the idea of timelessness, the absolute and infinity, interpreting the concept of "forever". A jury consisting of journalists, designers and specialists from the fashion and fashion style world, presided over by Beppe Angiolini, will select the most creative and original items displayed in a striking installation which will enhance the characteristics and creative content of each item. An important crossroads for promoting jewellery Made in Italy, GOLD/ITALY 2017 is the Show dedicated to creativity and innovation, craftsmanship and design. GOLD/ITALY 2017 will witness the birth of the "Creative Design Lab // Jewels Lab Design" project has been set up, the first performance area specifically devoted to creativity. Here teams of designers and creative artists will not only be presenting their collections, they will also be displaying their designs and explaining their ideas. In this way the platform will become an open window onto the future of jewellery design, offering a service to the Italian and international jewellery community. GLAM LAB, the exclusive stage inside GOLD/ITALY 2017, will once again provide the ideal space for promoting fashion trends and companies' new ideas. Daily interviews and live photo shoots from GOLD/ITALY 2017 will be held in the GLAM LAB area with company owners and designers who will be able to present their own jewellery collections. The interviews will be viewable on preziosachannel, youtube and facebook. The programme of events starts on Saturday, 21st October with the official GOLD/ITALY Opening Ceremony and the cutting of the ribbon attended by the authorities in Chimera Hall in the Glam Lab Area, and the evening event, Gold Night, which will see the entire city involved with entertainment and late-night shopping until midnight. There will be live music and dj sets in many picturesque corners of the historical centre to give buyers, exhibitors and sector operators enjoyable moments and the chance to get together.
On Sunday 22nd October, at 5 pm, the GLAM LAB will be the setting for the Show's most glamorous prize-giving event - the #CreateYourLove contest. The ceremony will be presented by Cinzia Malvini, fashion and costume journalist, and will include the participation of Beppe Angiolini as President of the Jury made up of journalists, designers and specialists from the fashion and fashion style worlds. Moreover, each day designer, fashion world authority and social influencer, Lisa Robertson, will be presenting the exhibiting companies' collections live on QVC, the exciting social shopping channel. Founder of LisaRobertson.com, as well as being a famous television personality in the USA, she has been mentioned as one of the Beauty Authorities' "new beauties", received the "Woman of Distinction" award in Philadelphia and appeared in the New York Times, Vogue, People and USA Today. GOLD/ITALY 2017 also confirms its link with the educational world by hosting an installation that will be displaying the jewellery items made by students on the Jewellery Specialization Course at Arezzo's Institute of Art in highly original glass showcases. Thanks to the exclusiveness of the innovative Meeting Club format, every day GOLD/ITALY 2017 will be offering exhibitors personalized services so that they can come into contact with selected delegations of buyers from both emerging and traditional markets. The programme of events foresees the usual guided exhibition tours for buyers specifically dedicated to the gold, jewellery, silverware, semi-processed goods and gemstone stands where top Italian companies and leading brands will be exhibiting in the CASH&CARRY area, which groups together ready goods, the BI-JEWEL area in which to find costume and fashion jewellery, and the JEWEL/TECH area devoted to cutting edge technologies for the jewellery sector, such as 3D printing presented by 7 companies that are researching into the most advanced technologies. Saturday and Sunday will both provide the chance to meet and gather in the Buyers Lounge Area to taste Tuscan wines.
