The Regular Meeting of the Harding Township Board of Education will be held on Monday, January 20, 2014, at 7:30pm, Middle School Building.

Mission Statement The Harding Township School provides a strong educational foundation which inspires students to achieve academic excellence. Our dedicated faculty stimulates intellectual growth using a challenging curriculum within a supportive learning environment. We encourage students to become self-directed, lifelong learners who are well prepared for the academic and social challenges of the future.

2013/14 District Goals 1. To develop a student dashboard and use the data to improve the instructional process.

01-014-14 Be It Resolved, that the Harding Township Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, approves the first reading of revised ByLAW 0155 (Board Committees).

01-015-14 Be It Resolved, that the Harding Township Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, approves the Retainer Agreement to continue as Special Counsel for Special Education and Other Matters, with Schwartz Simon Edelstein & Celso, LLC, for the 2014/15 school year, fees in accordance with terms of said Agreement. 01-016-14 Be It Resolved, that the Harding Township Board of Education hereby

01-017-14 Be It Resolved, that the Harding Township Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, approves the tuition rate of $3,750 for Preschool, effective July 1, 2014 (2014/15 school year).

01-019-14 Be It Resolved, that the Harding Township Board of Education, in accordance with N.J.A.C. 6A:23-2.11(c) certifies that no major account or fund has been over-expended and that sufficient funds are available to meet the district’s financial obligations for the remainder of fiscal year 2013/14.

01-020-14 Be It Resolved, that the Harding Township Board of Education, approves the payment of bills and claims, January 14, 2014, in the amount of $940,643.74.

01-022-14 Be It Resolved, that the Harding Township Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the School Principal, approves the following Applications for Use of School Facilities:

1. Harding Hawks Field Hockey Club, use of Hockey Field/Gymnasium, on August 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, 21, 26, 27, 28, 2014, from 3:30pm to 5:30pm, for Practice Sessions. 2. Harding Hawks Field Hockey Club, use of Hockey/Soccer Fields/Gymnasium, on September 9, 14, 21, 28; October 5, 12, 19, 26; November 2, 2014, from 12:30pm to 3:30pm, for Practice Sessions and Games. 3. Harding Hawks Field Hockey Club, use of Hockey Field/Gymnasium, on September 2, 9, 16, 23, 30; October 7, 14, 21, 28, 2014, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, for Practice Sessions. 4. Harding Township Recreation Association, use of Hockey Field/Gymnasium, on September 7, 14, 21, 28; October 5, 12, 19, 26, 2014, for Practice Sessions. 5. Harding Township Recreation Association, use of Baseball Diamonds, every Friday from April 25 to June 6, 2014, from 6:00-m to 7:00pm, for T-Ball.

01-023-14 Be It Resolved, that the Harding Township Board of Education, approves Phase II of the Window and Unit Ventilator Replacement Project, and accepts the Grant, State Project #2010-050-14-1002-G04, pursuant to the Educational Facilities Construction and Financing Act, P.L. 2000, as amended, total project cost estimated at $271,673, local share at 60%, State share at 40%, pursuant to DOE notification, dated December 4, 2013.

01-024-14 Be It Resolved, that the Harding Township Board of Education, authorizes the purchase and installation of one (1) 21/2 Ton Cooling Only Split System for the Server Room, includes electrical work, total cost of purchase and installation in accordance with the terms and conditions of the sale $13,891. The district received four (4) quotes for this purchase and installation: 1) Honeywell $13,891; 2) PDM Group $20,215; 3) Environmental Control Group $23,250; and 4) Zinno Construction $26,000.

01-025-14 Be It Resolved, that the Harding Township Board of Education, approves the

01-026-14 Be It Resolved, that the Harding Township Board of Education, approves the Elementary School Lobby Security Doors Project and authorizes HQW Architects to revise the district’s Long Range Facilities Plan (LRFP) to include this project, and prepare and submit the required documents to the Department of Education, designating this project as an “other capital project” and the Board of Education is not seeking State funding for this project.

01-027-14 Be It Resolved, that the Harding Township Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Child Study Team, approves the revised Special Education Tuition Contract for student ID#10353, Morris School District, September 9, 2013 thru June 25, 2014, amount $47,377, payable in ten equal installments.

01-028-14 Be It Resolved, that the Harding Township Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, approves Oxford Consulting, to provide physical therapy, at $95.00 per hour, not to exceed four (4) hours per week, effective January 21, 2014.

01-029-14 Be It Resolved, that the Harding Township Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, approves Jennifer Sullivan, Elementary School Teacher/Grade 2, at an annual salary of $55,140 (MA/Step 2), prorated to 28,397, effective January 29, 2014 thru June 30, 2014.

01-030-14 Be It Resolved, that the Harding Township Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, approves a change of assignment for Katrina Schutz to Kindergarten Teacher, effective January 14 thru February 3, 2014.

01-031-14 Be It Resolved, that the Harding Township Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, approves Julie Rouse and Gretchen Cassidy, as Substitute Teachers, as needed, for the 2013/14 school year.

01-032-14 Be It Resolved, that the Harding Township Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, approves Professional Development for Rachael Gareau, to attend Annual Music Conference, February 20-22, 2014, fee $150.00.
