NORTHERN CALIFORNIA’S CORDEVALLE SELECTED AS HOST FOR THE PGA CUP IN 2015 – THE INTERNATIONAL PGA CLUB PROFESSIONAL SHOWCASE

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – CordeValle, one of Northern California’s celebrated golf destinations, has been selected to serve as host for a second time of the PGA Cup, the premier international showcase for PGA Professionals. The 27th PGA Cup will be contested in September 2015. CordeValle, which opened in 1999 in San Martin, Calif., lies some 45 minutes north of Pebble Beach. The Robert Trent Jones Jr.-designed layout is the second West Coast venue to host a PGA Cup. The Ryder Cup-style competition brings together 10-member teams representing PGA Professionals from the United States and Great Britain & Ireland. The site selection comes as the 26th PGA Cup will be contested, Sept. 20-22, at Slaley Hall’s Hunting Course in Northumberland, England. The U.S. and Great Britain & Ireland Teams will be determined in June following the close of each Association’s Professional National Championships. “The PGA Cup is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for a PGA Professional, and CordeValle is a venue that provides that extra touch for this compelling competition,” said PGA of America President Ted Bishop, who will serve as U.S. Captain in 2015. “Having witnessed several PGA Cups in my career, I can vouch for the drama and the exceptional talents of PGA Professionals on both sides of the Atlantic. We are very excited that CordeValle will once again be our host, as we celebrate the best playing club professionals of our Association and those of Great Britain and Ireland.” In 2011, the United States retained possession of the Llandudno International Trophy at CordeValle, with a dominating 17½ to 8½ performance on the par-72, 7,252-yard layout. “CordeValle is honored to host The PGA Cup for a second time, and to bring The PGA of America and its partners from The Professional Golfers’ Association together once again to our property,” said Alan Campey, president of CordeValle. “This great event adds to our legacy, while our staff remains committed to providing a world-class golf experience.” CordeValle, a 45-room luxury resort, has served since 2010 as site of the PGA Tour Frys.Com Open, and this year will host the U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur Championship. It also was site of the 2012 USA-China Youth Golf Match, won by China, and since 2005 the CordeValle Collegiate, featuring the nation’s finest men’s golf teams. CordeValle first debuted on a national stage in 2001, as site of the first of three U.S. Open Qualifying Tournaments, and hosted two U.S. Amateur Qualifying (2003, ’06) Tournaments. -- more -- Page 2/CordeValle Golf Club Site of 2015 PGA Cup

Jones designed CordeValle at the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains. It is a 270-acre course within a 1,700- acre preserve, featuring an organic blend of natural and man-made obstacles from meandering creeks to sand bunkers, and from sycamore trees to strategically-place tees. “The location had so many great possibilities that it was difficult to decide which to choose,” said Jones. “CordeValle is one of those pure ‘core golf’ experiences. It is perhaps my finest golf course creation.” Begun in 1973 at Pinehurst, N.C., The PGA Cup is structured after the Ryder Cup and brings together 10- member teams of the PGA of America’s professionals facing a 10-member team from Great Britain & Ireland. Since the PGA Cup originated in 1973, as an outgrowth of the PGA Professional National Championship, the United States has never been defeated on home soil. The U.S. owns a 17-5-3 overall record.
