State Math Testing: 2010-2011 School Year

The state is implementing new math testing for the 2010-2011 school year. These new tests are in addition to the new Measurement of Student Progress in grades 7 and 8. The following list describes these new tests:

 End-of-Course Algebra (or Integrated 1 for some districts) o Participation: All students 7-12 who are enrolled in Algebra or Applied Algebra are required to take this new state test. o Graduation Requirement: Students in the class of 2013 and beyond must pass this test to meet state graduation requirements (or pass an alternative option available after taking this test at least once) o Timing: The test is designed to be taken in their Algebra class period for 2.5 periods in June. The exact days will be according a to a district created schedule (dates not yet determined). o Results: Results will not be available until late summer 2011 at the earliest.

Students grades 11-12 who want to use it as a re-take to meet state math requirement. o Graduation Requirement: Students must pass this test to meet state graduation requirements (or pass an alternative option available after taking this test at least once) o Timing: June on a day after End-of-Course o Results: Results will not be available until late summer 2011 at the earliest.
