Villano, DDS, PC PAGE 2 EMERALD GAMEDAY THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 12, 2015 ⚑ GAMEDAY HOW OREGON AND STANFORD STACK UP ➡ JUSTIN WISE, @JUSTINFWISE The vibe inside Autzen Stadium last Saturday was much different than some of the Ducks’ previous home contests this year. After 777 yards of offense and a formidable performance from its defense, Oregon walked away with its first Pac-12 home win of the season. The win marked the Ducks’ third in a row and also made the program bowl eligible for the 11th consecutive year – a contrast to the place many thought the team would be headed after it opened the season at 3-3. It is why defensive backs coach John Neal said he’d be lying if he didn’t view the win on Saturday as a milestone. “We got destroyed against Utah,” Neal said after the game . “To be where we are, I’m grateful, I’m relieved.” But Oregon’s next test may truly indicate just where Oregon exactly is. No. 7 Stanford, its quarterback Kevin Hogan and Heisman candidate Christian McCaffrey pose a threat unlike the Ducks’ defense has faced in a while. But it is a brand of football Oregon is more than familiar with, as the matchup between speed and physicality has always played a key role in each team’s season. With Oregon’s offense appearing to look the way it is advertised, the matchup expects to be a much tougher test for Stanford’s defense than it would’ve been a month ago. STANFORD OFFENSE OREGON OFFENSE VS. VS. OREGON DEFENSE STANFORD DEFENSE In 2013, an undefeated Oregon team went to Stanford and was physically Oregon’s midseason turnaround is not a mystery. STANFORD ➡ CHRISTOPHER KEIZUR, @CHRISKEIZUR The top two teams in the Pac-12 North are set for a showdown this Saturday, as Oregon travels south to Palo Alto, California, to face No. 7 Stanford. The Ducks (6-3, 4-2 Pac-12) come into the game on the heels of a 44-28 victory over California, a game in which they seemed to finally get things back on track. Oregon overcame a slow start and an early turnover to put up 777 total yards of offense — the most in program history. The Cardinal (8-1, 7-0 Pac-12) have been just as impressive since its week one glitch against Northwestern. Since that early loss, Stanford has gone undefeated, most recently beating Colorado 42-10. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 9/22/19 http://twitter.com/NFL345 SEVEN FROM SUNDAY – WEEK 3 A look at seven statistical highlights from games played at 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. ET on Sunday, September 22, the third week of the 2019 season. • Four teams that missed the postseason in 2018 – the BUFFALO BILLS (3-0), DETROIT LIONS (2-0-1), GREEN BAY PACKERS (3-0) and SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (3-0) – are undefeated through the first three weeks of the 2019 season. 2019 marks the fourth time that at least four teams have started the season undefeated through their first three games after missing the postseason the previous year since 1990 when the current playoff format was instituted, joining 2013, 2003 and 2002. • The NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS defeated the New York Jets, 30-14, in Week 3. New England is the first team to not allow a passing or rushing touchdown in each of their first three games of a season in the Super Bowl era. Additionally, the Patriots are the first team to hold opponents scoreless in the first half of five consecutive games, including the postseason, the longest such streak in the Super Bowl era. Patriots quarterback TOM BRADY, who passed for 306 yards and two touchdowns in the victory, has 71 career games with at least 300 passing yards and two touchdowns, surpassing PEYTON MANNING (70) for the second-most such games in NFL history. Only DREW BREES (93) has more such performances in league annals. • Appearing in his 20th career game, Kansas City quarterback PATRICK MAHOMES passed for 374 yards with three touchdowns and zero interceptions for a 132.0 rating in the Chiefs’ 33-28 win over Baltimore.

  • Nfl on Thrilling Pace with 100Th Game on Tap
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 10/15/19 http://twitter.com/nfl345 NFL ON THRILLING PACE WITH 100TH GAME ON TAP To help celebrate the NFL’s 100th season, each week will feature an NFL 100 Game of the Week. Each game is a nod to a momentous game played, a fierce rivalry that spans decades, a matchup of original teams and/or a game in which history was made. The NFL has designated Sunday’s Raiders-Packers matchup as the NFL100 Game of the Week because the contest involves teams that made indelible memories in three previous meetings. Most memorable was Super Bowl II, Jan. 14, 1968, at the Orange Bowl in Miami, Fla., the final game of VINCE LOMBARDI’s Green Bay coaching career. The Packers, fresh off their Ice Bowl win over the Cowboys, held off the AFL champion Raiders, 33-14. … Nearly 25 years later, late in a frigid game against the L.A. Raiders on Dec. 26, 1993, LeROY BUTLER forced a Raiders fumble recovered by Pro Football Hall of Famer REGGIE WHITE. After rumbling 10 yards, White lateraled to Butler, who covered the remaining 25 yards into the end zone and invented the Lambeau Leap as Green Bay clinched a playoff berth … Then, on Dec. 22, 2003, in Oakland, Pro Football Hall of Famer BRETT FAVRE, only a day after his father’s death, threw for 399 yards and four touchdowns before a Monday Night Football television audience, leading Green Bay to a pivotal win that catapulted the Packers to the playoffs. … Incidentally, following the Raiders’ loss to Lombardi’s Packers in Super Bowl II, the Raiders won the next five meetings with Green Bay, and wouldn’t lose to the Packers again for 23 years, capturing three Super Bowls in that span.
