Dear participants of summer school of Food Hygiene 2017, let me to send you more information about summer school:
1) It is imperative to have valid health insurance - have to be managed by students in their countries
2) During the stay in Brno you will need: one white lab coat, white lab trousers and T-shirts in the same colour (we will provide you single-use coats, white boots, caps, gloves in the individual subjects) valid health certificate for people working in the food industry which is issued by your practical doctor
Person’s which fail to produce the proper clothing including health certificate will not attend the practical lesson and field trips to slaughterhouses and processing plants!
3) After your arriving to Brno there are three possibilities how to go to the dormitory of VFU Brno (Kaunic's Hall of Residence):

1. From bus station opposite the Grand Hotel (Student Agency’s bus station) – you will go about 200 metres to the main station Hlavni nadrazi (see in attached map), catch tram No. 12 (direction Technologicky Park) and get off on the 3rd stop named Ceska.
2. From main bus station Zvonarka (also in attached map). You will go across the bridge to the tram and bus stop. You reach tram No. 12 and get off 5th stop on Ceska. 3. From main train station Hlavni nadrazi you will go to the tram stop Hlavni nadrazi and catch tram No. 12 (direction Technologicky Park) and get off on the 3rd stop named Ceska.
On tram stop Ceska catch tram No. 3 (direction Tabor) and get off at the 4th station named Tabor. Then you will turn left and go uphill (Mucednicka Street), after 300 metres you can see the dormitory Kounicovy koleje/Kaunic's Hall of Residence on the right side in the large park area (see in attached map).
!!!! During the night (after 11pm to 5am):
From the main station Hlavni nadrazi you can go with bus N92 (direction Cerneho) directly to the stop Tábor
From the main bus station Zvonarka you can go with bus N94 (direction Obrany, Sidliste) to Hlavni nadrazi a then go with bus N92 to Tabor stop;
or from Zvonarka go with bus N95 (direction Kamenny vrch) to Hlavni nadrazi or Ceska stop and then go with bus N92 to Tabor stop
4) Before you start travel by public transportation is necessary to buy tickets – to travel from Zvonarka or also from Hlavni nadrazi to Tabor stop buy ticket for 60 minutes (25 Kč/25 CZK). You can buy it on small kiosks on Hlavni nadrazi or somewhere else in city center or in yellow automates on the stops. For buying tickets in automates you need coins (you can use 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 CZK) or contactless payment card. You can also buy ticket from the driver (it is only for 90 minutes and it costs 35 CZK). For a longer stay in Brno and for a larger quantity of rides, it's economically favourable to buy a long-term ticket. At the railway stations, sales outlets (but not vending machines or newsstands) it is possible to purchase passes with coupons for 1 month (550 CZK, for students under 26 years 275 CZK), 3 months, or the whole year. You'll need a passport-size photo (size 3.5 x 4.5 cm) and an identity card or passport for the issue of pass. The validity of pass is determined by data on a coupon.

5) At the main gate by gatekeeper will be for you keys to the rooms, and also paper where will be written with who you share the room. You will get also clean sheets.
6) The rooms are for two students and include small kitchen (without dishes), fridge, shower and toilet. And the building is equipped by the Washing machines, Drying room, TV room, Study and Reading room, Telephone automatic coin and card machine, Sauna, Solarium, Table Tennis, Billiard, Bike room, Outside Sport ground. There is also the „TOPAS“ club- restaurant located inside the building.
7) I enclose a map of how to get from your accommodation to our campus (VFU Brno): You can also use the tram No. 3 from stop Tabor to Ceska (direction Stara Osada) and there you catch tram No. 6 (direction Kralovo Pole Nadrazi), get off on the 6th stop Kartouzska and it is very closer to main gate of VFU.
