PHYS 122 Summer Session I, 2009 Homework Assignments, Set 1

Do not submit homework solutions. Your doing of the homework will be tested via daily quizzes. The quiz question will be one of the homework problems or a part of a longer problem, with only some numbers or notation changed. Although we do not collect the homework, you should work it out in full detail as a practice for quizzes and tests. If you have difficulty with a problem, you can show your attempt to me or to a TA and ask for advice on how to continue. You can also freely discuss it with other students. But keep in mind that you are on your own during quizzes and tests, at the end, you must be able to solve the problem on your own. Most assignments are problems from Knight, given as Chapter/Problem1, Problem2, ... There will also be assignments from the Homework volume of the “Tutorials”, usually identified by page numbers alone.
