Create the Justice League of Reformers

On the back of this paper (or on another piece of paper) create a Justice League of Reformers by turning three of the following reformers into Superheroes: Frederick Douglass, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Dorothea Dix, Horace Mann, Susan B. Anthony, Lucretia Mott, Sojourner Truth, William Lloyd Garrison, Harriet Tubman or any other you would like to suggest.

For each super reformer, you need: o A picture of the reformer as the superhero. Your picture should clearly represent the reformer. (Even if you’re not artistic, how can you make it visually clear who the reformer is?) Your picture should also include: o An appropriate costume that relates to his/her cause. (What is your reformer fighting for?) 2 points o At least two “weapons” the reformer might use to achieve his/her goal. (Think about the tools your reformer used.) 2 points o A super name – Clearly written above or near picture. The name should be connected to the cause and somehow represent the reformers real name. 2 points o A Slogan/Catch Phrase. What is this reformer fighting? (What is the issue/problem?) Show it by placing a quote under his/her drawing. The quote should explain the cause. You might also think of this as a slogan or catch phrase. 2 points o The Success: In some way, show the impact the your reformer had. Maybe you could use a speech bubble in which your hero “brags” about what he/she accomplished. Or, you could write a newspaper headline under the drawing that shows the impact. Or, you can simply write a sentence explaining one result of the reformers work. 2 points
