Overview of the team and role The Early Intervention team operates within the Claims Management group which consists of several teams that deliver one of Comcare’s primary functions, to holistically manage worker’s compensation claims for the Australian and ACT Government Public

2 Sectors. The Early Intervention team focuses on eligibility for new claims, identifying and targeting strategies to achieve early and sustainable return to work, liability management and wellbeing outcomes.

The Team Manager leads operational service delivery teams responsible for: - Determining the eligibility of claims within 20 days (injury) and 60 days (psychological) - Achieving return to work and liability targets (within the first 6 months of claim receipt)

The Team Manager works closely with the Director and is responsible for: - Effectively coaching, directing and monitoring staff operations - Championing continuous improvement to achieve efficient and effective operations - Managing recruitment, staff retention and performance management - Supporting the team in achieving return to work and liability reduction targets.

Experience

Minimum of five years Claims Management experience Minimum of three years team leadership experience

Job specific capabilities

1. Ability to lead and manage staff.

2. Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.

3. Knowledge of workers’ compensation schemes and the SRC legislation or experience in return to work, rehabilitation, claims management, common law and/or service delivery.

4. Stakeholder engagement and conflict resolution skills.

5. Demonstrated resilience and commitment to achieve results.
