HONEYWELL LAUNCHES EAGLEHAWK, ALL-IN-ONE HVAC PLANT CONTROLLER THAT INTEGRATES LIGHTING, SHADING, AND OTHER BUILDING MANAGEMENT APPLICATIONS

BACnet controller maximizes energy efficiency with intuitive, user-friendly operation

Schoenaich, Germany, September 2016 - Honeywell (NYSE:HON) announced today the launch of EAGLEHAWK, an all-in-one BACnet controller that can integrate a facility’s lighting, shading, and other building applications such as energy management and heating, ventilation, and air- conditioning (HVAC) systems onto a single platform. It supports the manufacturer-independent BACnet protocol and is freely programmable. EAGLEHAWK, from Honeywell’s CentraLine brand, is ideal for controlling HVAC systems and is based on the latest Niagara and Web technologies. In combination with the CentraLine Application Library, EAGLEHAWK helps facilities achieve maximum energy efficiency while also offering intuitive and user-friendly operation. State-of-the-art control algorithms are used that take applicable statutory regulations and standards like EN 15232 into account. By using input/output modules based on Panel Bus or optionally LonWorks communication, the system has a high degree of scalability and flexibility. For smaller installations with restricted space, two models with 14 and 26 onboard in- and outputs will be available. “In all buildings, whether schools, office buildings, shopping centers, or airports, the seamless integration of a facility’s various building management systems is essential to minimize operating costs and achieve optimum working and living conditions”, said Michael Rader, CentraLine business leader. “EAGLEHAWK is the all-in-one-solution for integrated building automation which helps facility managers in achieving these targets.” All EAGLEHAWK controllers include an integrated web server, enabling facilities to be serviced via web browser, either on-site or through remote access from any networked PC, tablet, or smartphone. The controller is also suited to the use of energy management software such as 2- Honeywell Launches EAGLEHAWK CentraLine's ENERGY VISION, which records, archives, analyzes, displays, and reports a building's energy data, thus making a substantial contribution to saving energy costs. Additionally, EAGLEHAWK acts as an integration platform that links a wide range of devices and systems in a building. The open building-management system means that all standard communication protocols such as BACnet, LonWorks, M-Bus, Modbus, oBIX, KNX, EnOcean, DALI, etc. can be integrated. Existing CentraLine installations can, of course, also be integrated seamlessly. The applications range from simple field bus connections (for example, Modbus for refrigeration or M-Bus for consumption data entry) up to the integration of complex subsystems for light control (KNX/DALI), burglary reporting, or access control. EAGLEHAWK also supports the EasyClickPro system, providing practical integration for lighting, blinds, and temperature control via EnOcean technology. With its flexible arrangement of wireless components, this technology is suitable for new and existing buildings.
