Hi ladies,

Think Spring! I am sending a message to the Man Upstairs that we have good weather for our show. We had a great meeting with Barb Miller and her Judy Niemeyer quilts, I thought they were so beautiful because I am drawn to geometrics. Food for thought about future classes?

I have been working on the spread sheet of Quit entries. We have around 133 of your quilts and another 12 from the QCNYS Lines and Angles Challenge. It is shaping up to be a great show. There is a crew of people working behind the scenes now to put this all together. Thank you all for stepping up to the plate, we are almost there for the quilt show! Onward we go! We will do our preliminary check at the May meeting to make sure all things are covered.

For those who did not attend our April meeting, the Jean Kranz Scholarship was drawn and the lucky winner is Ann Hawkins. We also thank Nancy Ciaio for the yummy cookie recipe she shared. Do not forget to bring Tea type foods for our High Tea in May. Also, wear your best Easter bonnet or hat We have a prize for the best themed table and the best bonnet!

Hoping and praying for May Flowers!

Sally A.

OPPORTUNITY QUILT

Please don't forget to get raffle tickets from me. We sold about 50 at GVQC. I know everyone is stretched thin trying to get your items ready for the show. You don't have to buy a lot. But please support our guild. Thanks. Joan Danaher

RAFFLE BASKETS FOR THE QUILT SHOW The raffle baskets are now full. Thanks to everyone who helped. Lisa

Food for Quilt Show Just a reminder to please sign up to help in the kitchen, even if only for a hour or so during the lunch time (11:30 to 2pm). I will have a sign up sheet for pies, please put your name down to bring either apple or cherry on Friday or Sat. morning. - Mary Munson

Paint Chip Challenge Please remember to send your dimensions of the paint chip challenge quilts to Sally Acomb. Sally forgot to ask for dimension on the challenge form. We need them to allocate linear footage for the show. If you named your paint chip challenge quilt, we would like the name as well. ASAP would be wonderful.

If you did not put a description on your quilt, YOU will be asked to describe the quilt, or why you made it, why you like it, please tell us something about what you feel about your quilt. Inquiring minds like information about how or why you made it!!!!

If all of the information necessary was not on the entry form, you will be getting an email to provide the missing info asap.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Sally Acomb Quilt Angels We need additional quilt ANGELS to sign up. It only means that you will meet and greet people who come to see the show, talk about quilts, wear white gloves and show people the quilts so that they are not handling them without gloves, and just being quilt ambassadors!!! The shifts are for two hours each during the show both on Friday and Saturday. You can either e-mail me - [email protected] or call 607-546-6153 or sign up at the May meeting. It is a great way to meet quilters and discuss the quilts. Thanks. Bobbi Beckhorn

Quilt Show Bed Turning This is scheduled for Saturday, May 14th from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM.We need at least 10 quilts, old or new. We have none at this point. If you have a quilt or a quilt top that you have always wonder about its history, one that sits somewhere in a trunk, a drawer, or a band new one, please sign -up to have it placed in the layer of quilts for Genie Barnes to talk about.

She is very willing to answer questions and she will ask a few. There is no charge for this, and you will have a new insight into the type of quilt it is and its history.

Please sign-up at the May meeting, email, or call me about your quilt. Flo Meredith [email protected] 607-532-8733
